Leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Adamawa State Chapter has extended a heartfelt felicitations to Muslim community in the state and beyond for a successful completion of Ramadan fast and the celebration of Eid-El- Fitr.
In a goodwill message signed by the Chairman of the Association, Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza and made available to NEWS PLATFORM today, said that Christians friends wish to identify with them on this very special occasion of grace and friendship as typified in the greetings, meetings where possible, and by sharing in an iftar with their Muslim brothers.
Most Rev. Dr. Dami Mamza who is also the Catholic Bishop Yola Diocese stated that the association is aware that the month of Ramadan is so central in Islamic religion, and added that it is dear to them at personal and communal levels.
He posited that during Ramadan fast, Muslims grow spiritually through the experience of God’s healing, sharing with the poor and strengthening of family and friendship bonds, pointing out that the bonds of unity or togetherness on such special occasions will go a long way in fostering fraternity between Christians and Muslims which is critically needed in such a polarised world.
He disclosed that it is as result of the spirit of love and unity that Adamawa State Christians specially pray for them and congratulate them as they mark this feast.
"As the Muslim Community in Adamawa State and their counterparts in other regions of the world complete the month of Ramadan which is marked by fasting, prayers and almsgiving, please accept our warmest greetings and best wishes", Dr. Dami added.
According ti him, the members of the association have prayed for them for a successful Ramadan fast, and for a great celebration of the feast of Eid el-Fitr, and prayed that the just concluded acts of fasting, prayers and alms-giving may attract grace and favour for them in Allah’s eyes and wished them happy celebration.
He appealed to them to continue to pray for the end of Covid-19 pandemic, peace and sincere human solidarity in love for the dignity and good of all in the world.
