The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested no fewer than 30 suspects in connection with Lamurde Government communal clash which left over 34 dead, while over 40 wounded.
Equally, the command has recovered Dane gun, swords, cutlasses in connection with the weekend clash.
A statement by the spokesman of the command, DSP, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje and made available to NEWS PLATFORM said that those apprehended will be investigated and prosecuted accordingly.
The statement reiterated the commitment of the command to protecting lives and property of the citizens, calling on people to stay at home and remain safe.
It added that the command in collaboration with sister security agencies will commence the full enforcement of the directives of the state government effective from today Monday 18th May, 2020.
It advised the general public to strictly adhere to the restriction order until further notice, saying that the 24hour curfew imposed by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to prevent escalation of the clash is effective across the Local Government Area and that all movements are prohibited during this period.
The command while urging the general public to adhere strictly, also warned officers and men deployed for this operation to display high level of professionalism, operate within the context of the law and respect human rights
