Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) Adamawa State Council has on Wednesday stormed the state Police headquarters and pledged to support the new Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adeyanju so as to succeed in fighting crime in the state.
The union further assured the new CP that it will do its utmost best towards ensuring a cordial working relationship between the Police and Journalists in the state.
The Chairman of NUJ Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan made the pledge while leading other principal officers of the union at the state and chapel level on a familiarisation visit on the new CP today.
Comrade Dedan told the Police Boss that the primary reason behind the visit was to welcome him and familiarise themselves with him, assuring the command of the commitment of the union to establishing cordial working relationship in the overall interest of Adamawa.
Speaking while receiving the leadership of the NUJ, the CP urged the union to partner with police in ensuring peaceful Adamawa.
CP Adeyanju assured the Chairman that the police under his watch will not relent until crime is reduced to the barest minimum, and thanked the union for its support to the Command.
