R -L: Hon. Abdullahi Ahmadu(Leko Kom), Hon. Myandassa Bauna (Lamurde), Hon. Bathiya Wesley (Hong) and PDP Chairman Opalo Ward in Lamurde LGA
As part of efforts towards improving the living standard his electorate, the Member representing Lamurde constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Myandassa Bauna, has distributed assorted empowerment items to electorate in his constituency.
The empowerment items distributed by the Legislator include; 3 Bajaj Motorcycles, 65 Water Pumps, 2 Sawing Machines, 240 Fishing Nets, 40 Knapsack Sprayers, Assorted Drugs for all Health Centers, Plastic Containers, cups, basins, buckets among others.
The items were distributed to beneficiaries cut across 10 wards including Rigange, Opalo, Lafiya, Lamurde, Suwa, Waduku, Dubwange, Gyawana, Ngbakowo, Ngbaboze gun which comprise Lamurde LGA.
Likewise, the Member of the Parliament has organised a Thanksgiving Service where he appreciated God Almighty for making it possible unto him to become the Member representing Lamurde at the state hallowed chamber.
The Thanksgiving Service which was held at the Apostolic Church Dubwangun in Lamurde LGA Sunday, attracted no fewer than 10 Honourable Members of the State House of Assembly, Hon. Commissioner Ministry of Education, Chairmen of Numan and Lamurde LGCs, officials of the Peoples' Democratic Party(PDP), Clergies, hundreds of friends, well wishers and family members.
Earlier, Speaking during the Thanksgiving Service, the Member representing Lamurde constituency, Hon. Myandassa Bauna, thanked God Almighty for the wonderful work He has done in his life and that of his family and his entire constituents.
Hon. Bauna told the congregation that he started nursing ambition of vying for political office when he was serving as teacher in public school, saying in spite of hurdles, he had contested election and won as a Councillor but later removed, became Supervisory Councillor and later Secretary of the PDP where he contested and emerged victorious as member.
He said that he contested and won election as Member without a dime, saying his electorate voted for him into office because of trust and love and reiterated his commitment to justify the confidence reposed in him.
The Legislator further urged his electorate to do away with hatred, opposition and rumour mongering and work together for the progress of Lamurde, pledging to continue to abide by the truth and nothing but truth throughout his tenure at the House of Assembly.
While appealing for prayers and support from his constituents, the Honourable Member promised to do everything possible to meet their yearnings and aspirations through effective representation.
In his sermon, the District Pastor Apostolic Church Numan, Apostle Gayus B Dawango, tasked Christian faithful to thank God for His love, protection and how He has redeemed them through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Apostle Dawango who took his reading from Hebrews chapter 13:15, said: "Thanksgiving is a weapon for victory", and added that it brings down the power of God and makes the Children of God to win battles for their lives.
Speaking while distributed the items to the beneficiaries, Hon. Bauna told the gathering that it is time to give account of his stewardship by presenting what he has gotten within 7 months of representation.
He disclosed that he supplied the items from what he had deducted from his salaries and not constituency allowance, explaining that the kind gesture was a pay back time for the kind love shown to him by the people of Lamurde.
According to him, the presentation of the assorted empowerment items was just the beginning and that in the next 7 months he will storm the constituency again with the 2nd phase of the empowerment items.
Hon. Myandassa Bauna assured the constituents of the commitment of the Members of the 7th Assembly to turning around the living standard of the people of the state through quality legislation.
