The 14 year old boy, Kamashi Danladi, who recently fainted at the Chief Magistrate Court 2 in Yola, for stealing 2 measures of rice, has again been arrested for another theft of propery worth N61, 000.
Some of the items carted away by the boy include; 3 sets of gasoline generators, star times decoder, mp3 player and tool box containing spanners valued at N61, 000.
The items which belong to one Solomon Danjuma, a mechanic and resident of Jambutu, in Yola North Local Government Area, were stolen by the boy on the 25th September, 2021.
It could be recalled that the boy, who also resides at the Police Station street in Jambutu, was on the 13th September, 2021 arraigned for the offence of theft, where he confessed to stealing 2 measures of rice but blamed his action to hunger.
NEWS PLATFORM also recalled that Kamashi, was among the suspected "Shila" boys whom the authorities of the prison service Yola rejected to admit due to their age.
But shortly after the case was mentioned on that fateful day, he vomitted and subsequently collapsed at the premises of the CMC 2.
It took the intervention of the prosecutor, Seargent Kabiru Abubakar, who gave out sum money used in transporting him to their house at Jambutu for medical attention.
To the surprise of many, when the boy regained his conciousness and health condition improved, he went back to his business where he stole the set of items which led his arrest.
When arraigned before Magistrate Japhet Ibrahim Basani, for the fresh offence by way of First Information Report presented in court by the prosecutor, Kabiru Abubakar, the boy said he actually stole the items.
He told the Judge that he does not smoke anything except indian helm, and again blamed his action to lack of food.
It was at this juncture that the court ordered that he should be remanded at Yola Remand Home until the 14th October, 2021, for corroboration and summary trial.
