Mob in Dasin Bwatiye community in Fufore Local Government Area, Adamawa state on Tuesday, killed 7 people suspected to be witches in the community.
The victims including 4 men and 3 women were said to have earlier confessed to be witches before being killed by the mob.
It was gathered that the deceased allegedly penciled down several names of the people in the community to be killed by witchraft, and that when their evil plan became known, the community decided to kill them first before causing havoc.
The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) of the state police command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, confirmed the incident to NEWS PLATFORM on Wednesday.
DSP Nguroje, said that the 7 suspected witches were killed on Tuesday by the mob, saying that nobody is arrested at the moment in connection to the crime as all the inhabitants have deserted the community.
According to him, nobody is willing to come out and give relevant information that will lead to the arrest of those behind the act, lamenting a situation whereby people take laws into their own hands.
