NIGERIA @61: CP ORDERS TIGHT SECURITY, SALUTES FINTIRI, CITIZENS




As Adamawa citizens join rest of Nigerians in marking the 61st Independence Anniversary, the Commissioner Police, CP Mohammed Ahmed Barde, has ordered tight security arrangements and proactive high visibility patrols in the state.


The order which is to ensure a peaceful celebration was issued to all the Deputy Commissioner of Police(DCP), Operation Department, Area Commanders(ACs) Divisional Police Officers(DPOs), and Operational Commanders(OCs).


The CP had while directing the DCP to coordinate as well as ensure peaceful Independence Anniversary, ordered for the deployment of intelligence and other operational assets particularly at the venue where celebration will take place.


CP Barde, in a statement by the command's spokesman, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, and made available to NEWS PLATFORM on Thursday, cautioned officers to display high level of professionalism while performing their duty.


He assured the citizens of adequate security as the nation celebrates the 61st Independence Anniversary on Friday,1st October, 2021, explaining that the adequate security measures is aimed at protecting citizens, as well as ensuring the success of all the activities lined-up.


According to him, the officers and men of the command will strive to prevent any act capable of breaking down law and order before, during and after the celebration. 


"They are to also ensure high visibility and confidence boosting patrols around the venue of the celebrations, residential areas and other places of public resort to prevent any infiltration of hostile elements". He added.


He congratulated Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, and the entire people of the state, and called on citizens to go about the celebrations in the most peaceful and law abiding manner and report any suspicious person(s) around their neighborhoods.
