A divorce seeking housewife, Rumasau Muhammed, of Wuro Yanka community in Shelleng Local Government Area, Adamawa state has ended her 3 weeks old marriage with her husband, Muhammed Adamu by stabbing him with a knife to death.
Already, the suspect who was forcefully married to the 35 year old deceased, has been arrested in connection to the alleged crime by the operatives of the police command attached Shelleng Divisiobal headquaters.
The spokesman of the command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, told NEWS PLATFORM in a statement on Wednesday, that the suspect was married to her late husband on the 6th August, 2021, against her will, and since then, she had been pressurising the deceased to divorce her, but kept turning down her demand.
Irked by his action, the suspect decided to terminate the marriage by carrying a knife with which she butchered him on stomach as a result of which he fell down unconscious, and was rushed to the Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
According to DSP Nguroje, the suspect was apprehended by the Police in Shelleng following report received from one Jophas Johnsley, a friend of the deceased.
He added that the Commissioner of Police A.A.Alhaji, directed for immediate prosecution of the suspect so as to serve as deterrance to others.
