Three armed robbers, who specialised in breaking into homes to steal valuables, have been apprehended by the police in Adamawa state.
The operatives of the command have also recovered handsets and clothes among others from the suspects.
The 3 suspects – Kalifa Mustapha, 20, Tumba Abubakar, 27 and Faisal Abdulla, 21– were nabbed for allegedly committing separate offences by operatives attached to Yola Division and local vigilantes.
The command's spokesman, DSP, Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, in a statement made available to NEWS PLATFORM on Sunday, said that the suspects were apprehended on the 24th September,2021.
He said that investigation so far revealed that the three suspects belong to a syndicate of seven who invaded twenty two houses within three months in Yola.
DSP Nguroje, added that the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ahmed Barde, had deployed command's operatives attached to Yola Division along side vigilantes and apprehended 3 suspected armed robbers.
According to him, the new CP had directed for frequent night operations which is aimed at preventing and dislodging hoodlums from their current operational spaces and denying them space to regroup in other parts of the State.
He extended the appeal of the CP to the civil populace to work with the Police and other security agencies in their joint tasks of safeguarding our state, especially by providing useful, relevant and timely information.
