CONGRESS: INSTALL OUR CANDIDATES OR RUIN APC- WALIN GANYE LOYALISTS THREATEN

As the All Progressives Congress gets set for the forthcoming party congress to elect local government officials, a group loyal to Alhaji Muhammed Sadiq, the Wali Ganye has threatened to hijack the exercise in favor of their annointed candidate, Hamidu Gangneksumen.

Ayuba Muhammed, a card carrying member of the People's Democratic Party, who was seen in a video that went viral while representing Sadiq at a meeting held at the residence of Ganye APC elders forum chairman, Alhaji Badiddi said if their wishes are not done, the party will be embroiled in a crisis that may escalate to the national level.

While addressing the gathering he said "on issues of party leadership, even if President  Buhari is from Ganye he cannot work against the interest of Muhammed Sadiq (Wali Ganye) or else his political career will crash."

He further stressed that they have made all necessary arrangements to ensure that their candidates are installed as party leaders of the local government in the forthcoming elections.

"When the electoral forms were brought, we were in confusion until Wali called and said we shouldn't worry. He said wherever the forms will be, he will make sure that he deliver, until Hamidu Gangneksumen becomes the local government party chairman," Ayuba said.

He added that his boss, the Wali assured him that the governorship seat that they were hoping will come to Ganye local government will be removed and taken to another place. "Whoever knows Wali and his political muscles will understand what is happening and have no choice but to work with him. If the crisis continues, we will make sure that the governorship ambition elude Ganye local government.

Ayuba also said that even the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustafa has tried severally to meet with the Wali Ganye but was not given an audience.

He, therefore, threatened all stakeholders, especially political office holders from Ganye to do the bidding of Wali or their political career will be ruined.

"I assure you that all the contestants will run. You (Namdas) just have the ambition of contesting for governor in your state and you're fighting with people. Even the present governor of Adamawa state, Ahmadu Fintiri came to Wali's place twice during the Ramadan fast talk less of someone who is nursing an ambition," Ayuba burst.

He further assured the gathering that they should not relent but continue to support the Wali movement in support of Hamidu's ambition to be the local government's APC chairman. "You shouldn't worry about what is happening, you're already the APC party executives of Ganye local government, whether he (Namdas) support you or not, we have been given the mandate to make sure Hamidu becomes the chairman and whatever our elders told us to do is what we will do," he added.

Another member of the meeting, Hamisu Buba, local government Treasurer of the party, said their candidates should be ready to steer the affairs of the party because they are in control of the party and will not allow anybody to change that. "We have control of the national, the state, even under the bed and snake holes so nobody can change our plans.

The gathering also alleged that Hon. Namdas has planned to imposed Augustine Bonokameni, the caretaker chairman of the party to continue as tentative chairman of the local government, but assured that they will resist that with all they've got.

When contacted, Hon. Namdas who is aspiring to fly the party's flag at the forthcoming governorship election debunked the claims saying that the party advised that consensus should be done, but where consensus failed, elections should hold.

"The first option for me is to ensure that the chairman is returned on a consensus basis, but if that fails we will go into elections and that is the position of the party. But I'm surprised that some group of people are insisting that their candidate must see the light of the day either by hook or crook. This is very unfortunate and will not be good for the good image of the party.

"For a group to say even the president of the federal republic of Nigeria cannot stop them from having their way, then I have to be careful. For me, I am loyal to my party, I'm loyal to the president and I'm loyal to the people I represent.

Namdas said he is ready for the elections on Saturday and has informed his supporters to take whatever the outcome may be in good fate.

A survey by Newsline has found out that consensus has failed in many local governments of the state and that most stakeholders are ready for elections. If the party denies stakeholders to participate in the elections, the party may be in a huddle and will fine it difficult to redeem itself. This will also make it's plans of reclaiming power in the 2023 elections impossible.
