FINTIRI BORROWED N17BILLION ONLY IN 2 YRS- ADHA SPEAKER CLARIFIES

The Speaker Adamawa state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, has clarified that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri's led administration borrowed the sum of N17billion only in 2 years.

Rt. Hon. Iya Abbas, who made the clarification while presiding over the resumed plenary session on Monday, added that the 7th Assembly granted two different approvals for Fintiri, to borrow the sum of N15billion and 2billion respectively.

According to him, the sum of N4billion has already been repayed out of the N15billion which was earlier borrowed as approved, and dismissed as untrue rumours making round that the assembly approved over N200 billion for Fintiri.

The Speaker said, " I want to make it categorically clear to all citizens of Adamawa state that the present Assembly has only passed 1 approval to borrow N15 billion and no any borrowing that was passed".

According to him, the second grant of N2billion for health facilities that was approved on Monday this week, was the one that they had changed the name of the bank from Access bank to Zenith bank.

He said that it is disheartening to hear some people saying that they had borrowed N100 to N300billion, and that if anybody is in doubt should visit the bank for verification.

On N100 billion agric bond, the Speaker stated that Fintiri, is yet to collect a dime from it.

He declared that other facility granted was for the development of housing estate of which 1000 houses are being constructed, and that the work is about 100% completion, explaining that the facility will be repayed by the beneficiaries of the family homes.

While speaking on the 2021 budget implementation, the Speaker disclosed that it is only in Fintiri's regime that the implemerntation of the budget is within the appropriation laws of the state, adding that the budget is within the reality.
