"NO GOV HAS PERFORMED LIKE FINTIRI SINCE 1991"- HON. KEFAS

The Chairman House Standing Committee on Information of the Adamawa State House of Assembly , Hon. Japhet Kefas, says that no Governor has ever performed like Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, since 1991.

According to him, the performance of Governor Fintiri, in 2 years has superceded what his predecessors were able achieved while on the helm of affairs.

Hon. Kefas, who represents Gombi constituency, stated this while fielding questions from newsmen in Yola, on Wednesday, explaining that it was in recognition of Fintiri's outstanding performance that the members unanimously passed vote of confidence on him with a view to encouraging him.

He told newsmen that the members had compared and contrasted the achievements recorded by all the governors since the creation of Adamawa, and found that out that Fintiri's developmental strides within 2 years exceeded that of predecessors.

The Chairman further stated that unlike in the past, anybody who visits Adamawa now will testify that there is government on the ground, saying that even the flyovers being constructed are enough reasons to give Fintiri, an edge on them.

According to him, none of their constituencies that has not witnessed the presence of the government of the day be it in the health sector, education, rural road among others, adding that the members have nothing to give him, except pass a confidence vote on his goverment in order to spur him to do more.

The legislator said that when the motion for the confidence vote was raised on the floor of the hallowed chamber, no single member including those from the opposition kicked against it; instead overwhelmingly and unanimously supported it by pouring encomiums on him.

He hinted that it is in recognition of Fintiri's good works that some members from the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) are planning to dump their party for PDP because they felt they cannot continue to stay where there is no project and progress.

Hon. Kefas, declared that all the lawmakers are solidly behind the Governor, and that any approval he is seeking from the house, the members are ready to unanimously grant it provided it is in the interest of the state, assuring that they will continue to work with him in the interest of the state.

He pointed out that the Governor has not been making segregation based on party lines among the members, saying he gave all the 25 Honourable Members N40 million each to execute constituency projects for their electorate, and gave him kudos for his commitment.
