NAMDAS GUBER AMBITION GETS BOOST AFTER HITCH FREE APC CONGRESS

The governorship ambition of the member representing Ganye, Jada, Toungo, and Mayo-Belwa at the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas has been further solidified after a successful local government congress of the All Progressives Congress in Ganye, Saturday.

Despite speculations of violence and tension within the party circle, stakeholders agreed to produce consensus candidates as members of the executive committee of the party.

After painstaking hours of deliberations and consultations at the government lodge Ganye, Adamu Gombe, a candidate forwarded by Hon. Namdas emerged as the party’s local government chairman.

Gombe is a former administrator of Gangdu Development Area, Ganye local government.

Secretary of the electoral committee, barrister Hinekanyi Adiel, while briefing newsmen after the exercise said they are happy that the process ended successfully without any rancor.

He commends the stakeholders for keeping their differences aside and agreeing on consensus which he said was the first line of action of the party.

“We arrived at Ganye this evening for an assignment to conduct local government election for the APC. The first line of our assignment is to ensure that there is a consensus among our party men. By the grace of God we were able to discuss amongst ourselves, both the electoral committee members and the stakeholders and we have come up with an agreed list. They all voluntarily consented to the sharing formula that we produced,” Adiel said.

He added that both parties agreed to drop their initial chairmanship aspirant for a neutral person and Hon. Namdas, being the highest-ranking political office holder in the area was asked to nominate the chairman of the party.

“Both parties agreed on Adamu Ahmed Gombe as the consensus chairman of the party. That is the position of the party and we congratulate him and his new exco,” he added.

Senator Abubakar Muhammed Moallayidi who spoke on behalf of Hon. Namdas said they are happy that their efforts did not go in vain. He said they have succeeded to follow the first line of action of the party, which is consensus, and have produced members of the exco that will lead the party into the 2023 general elections.

Senator Moallahyidi said “we thank God that we’ve been able to do a very wonderful job without any rancor, we are intact and ever united and will form a formidable front for our party. We are more united now because we have a governorship aspirant who is Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas. As of now, he is our only governorship candidate, we will stand by him, and by the grace of God he will become the governor of Adamawa state come 2023.”

The consensus list was signed by both parties, electoral officials, and security agents.

Namdas and his entourage which include Barrister Ibrahim Tahir, a former commissioner of justice were earlier received with fanfare by supporters across party and religious divide.
