APC Declares Tangwami Winner of Adamawa South Primary Election
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Primary Committee for Adamawa Southern Zone has declared Chief Felix B. Tangwami as the winner of the party’s senatorial primary election.
Announcing the results in Numan on Monday, the Returning Officer of the election, Usman H. Mapeo, said the primary election was conducted successfully across 9 LGAs including Demsa, Numan, Lamurde, Mayo-Belwa, Jada, Ganye, Toungo, Guyuk and Shelleng.
According to him, the total number of registered voters across the nine LGAs stood at 275,704, while 198,676 voters were accredited for the exercise. A total of 187,675 votes were cast during the primary election.
The breakdown of the votes scored by the aspirants showed that Chief Felix B. Tangwami emerged with the highest number of votes, polling 103,762 votes to defeat other contenders in the race.

Tangwami – 103,762 votes, Ahmed Abubakar – 10,220 votes, Grace Folashade Bent – 15,238 votes, Rubainu Calvin – 2,207 votes, Charles Luri Bala – 12,977 votes, Adamu Ismaila – 19,457 votes, Dahiru Lawan Sanda – 2,712 votes, Peter Leonard N. Fwa – 9,537 votes and Martins Babale – 11,565 votes
Mapeo stated that Tangwami, having secured the highest number of valid votes cast in the election, was duly returned elected as the APC candidate for the Adamawa South Senatorial District for the 2027 general elections.
The announcement was greeted with jubilation by supporters and party faithful who thronged the venue of the declaration in celebration of Tangwami’s emergence as the party’s flag bearer for the southern zone.
