This academic pedigree laid the foundation for a distinguished career in banking, where he rose to the position of Assistant General Manager by 2004. 

His professional integrity earned him recognition as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

In leadership, Chief Vunobolki’s defining contribution to public service came  as Coordinator of the North-East Multi-Sectoral Crisis Recovery Project (MCRP), a World Bank–assisted initiative. Under his leadership, communities devastated by insurgency began to rebuild:

• Schools, hospitals, and critical infrastructure were restored.

• Women and youth were empowered through livelihood programs.

• Agriculture was revitalized, strengthening food security.

• Social cohesion projects healed fractured communities.
