Quit APC, Join other Party to Rescue Adamawa- Stakeholders Beg Tangwami

Stakeholders as well as supporters of Chief Felix Tangwami, have appealed to him to as a matter of urgency dump the All Progressives Congress (APC) and contest the 2027 governorship election on another political party.

The stakeholders and supporters appealed to him to dump APC to enable him contest election with a view to rescuing Adamawa from Abuja politicians.

The call followed allegations that influential forces within the APC have allegedly concluded arrangements to impose candidates linked to what critics describe as the “City Boys Movement,”.

According to reports published by Rendezvous News, some group of politicians perceived to have little or no organic political structures within Adamawa State but allegedly backed by party oligarchs and Abuja-based power brokers.

Cross section of residents said that Tangwami remains the only governorship aspirant with genuine grassroots acceptance capable of mobilising voters across communities, wards, and local governments in the state.

According to him, the internal crisis within the APC has intensified following reports that governorship aspirants from Adamawa Southern Zone were allegedly pressured to step aside in favour of predetermined political interests.

Supporters of Tangwami pointed to a recent Facebook post attributed to the aspirant in which he appealed to his supporters to remain calm, explaining that the party leadership wanted him to assume a different political role for the Southern Zone instead of pursuing the governorship ambition many believe he rightfully deserves.

The development has triggered outrage among many grassroots supporters who insist that the move confirms growing fears that the 2027 governorship race is gradually being dictated by external political interests rather than by the democratic wishes of party members and ordinary citizens.

According to critics of the emerging political arrangement, the so-called “City Boys Movement” lacks deep local political roots and does not reflect the realities or aspirations of ordinary Adamawa citizens.“This is no longer about party loyalty; it is about rescuing Adamawa from political imposition,” one supporter said in Yola.

The people are ready to vote for him anywhere.” Another supporter argued that if the APC eventually denies Tangwami the governorship ticket, he should accept it as a sign from God, that the party may no longer be positioned to produce the next governor of Adamawa State. “APC currently lacks the political clout, pedigree, and grassroots credibility to organically secure victory in Adamawa,” the supporter said.
