Court Remands 2 for Strangling 14-Yr Old Boy to Death in Adamawa
The Chief Magistrate Court I in Yola, Adamawa State, has remanded 2 in prison custody for allegedly strangling a 14 years old boy, Nyalli Muktari to death.
The defendants, Safiyanu Mohammed, 22, and Muhammed Bello, 20, of Shelleng LGA, were remanded at the correctional centre by the Chief Magistrate court presided by Bello Ismail.
The duo were remanded at the correctional centre for the offences of criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, theft and culpable homicide contrary to sections 60, 248, 276 and 191 of the penal code law of Adamawa state.
Arraigning the defendants, ASP Zakka Musa, informed the court that the defendants allegedly committed the offences on the 30th March, 2026.
He said that the Shelleng Divisional Police headquarters received a reliable information over the missing of the deceased at Babban Dada village in Shelleng LGA.
He narrated that Nyalli was later found dead at a nearby bush during search operation and that the defendants were arrested during investigation.
According to him, the defendants sent the victim to a house of one Saidu Modi in the village to collect a mobile phone from his wife under the pretence that it is the husband that is asking for it.
He said that the boy went and collected the mobile and brought it to the defendants and when the defendant realised that he had identified them, they strangled him to death and dumped the corpse in a nearby bush.
He added that the police tracked the mobile phone which led to the arrest of the defendants who confessed to the commission of the heinous crime.
