Adamawa NUJ Hails Appointment of Barr. Leneke as Information Commissioner



Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Adamawa State Council, has congratulated the newly inaugurated Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Barr. Leader Leneke.

Barr. Leader, who was appointed by Governor Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, was inaugurated by Governor.

A statement jointly signed by the Chairman of the Council, Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim, and the Secretary, Comrade Kissinger Bukar, described the appointment of Barr. Leader as a well deserved considering his wealth experience, dedication, and unwavering commitment to public service.

The Council noted that his emergence as commissioner reflects the confidence reposed in his ability to effectively drive the information and communication agenda of the state toward greater excellence.

The union expressed optimism that under his leadership, the ministry would witness remarkable progress, particularly in strengthening government-media relations, promoting transparency, and enhancing the effective dissemination of government policies and programmes to the people of Adamawa State.

It commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for what it described as his continued commitment to appointing competent and capable individuals into strategic positions for the overall development of the state.

It further assured the new commissioner of its continued support and cooperation in fostering a robust partnership aimed at advancing professionalism in journalism and ensuring the dissemination of credible information in the public interest.

It prayed God to guide, grant wisdom, and success to him as he assumes the responsibility of steering the affairs of the ministry in the service of Adamawa State.

The Chief Magistrate Court II sitting in Yola, Adamawa State has remanded the Chairman Concern Citizens Adamawa State, Alh. Husseini Bello Gambo Nakura in prison custody over multiple offences. News Platform  The court presided by Magistrate M. A. Adamu, remanded the defendant in prison custody and adjourned the case to the 17th September, 2025 for commencement of hearing. The Michika Concerned Citizens in Adamawa State have blasted the former Governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna for his outright disrespect to the Paramount Ruler of Michika Chiefdom, HRM.
