2027: Barr. Azura Withraws from Adamawa Guber Race

Governorship Aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Adamawa State, Barr. D. D. Azura, has officially announced his withdrawal from governorship race in Adamawa state.

Barr. Azura, announced his decision to withdraw from the race in a release made available to newsmen in Yola, Adamawa State on Monday.

According to him, the decision is a sacrifice for the sake of unity, saying his stepping back is part of sacrifice so that the APC can move forward as one indivisible family.

He said, "During our consultations with the Central Working Committee and various interest groups, we made critical observations of the current political field. We have noted the consolidation of leadership and the emergence of a new direction for our party structure".

He explained that he had decided to withdraw his ambition to contest for the governorship after an exhaustive review of the field observations and in the spirit of cohesion.

"In politics, you don't just run to be on the ballot; you run to win and to serve. However, when the path to service threatens the very unity of the house you are trying to build, a true leader knows when to recalibrate.

"Over the past few months, we have traveled the 21 LGs of Adamawa. From Madagali to Toungo; we heard the heartbeat of APC card carrying members. They want continuity of the progress. They want unity. And above all, they want a future they can believe in", he added.

He said he remains committed for the party to truly succeed and for every member from the ward to the state levels to feel the impact of a level playing field, saying his withdrawal today is part of contribution toward peace.

"To my supporters, this is not the end of the road. It is a change of gear. We are not going home; we are going back to the drawing board to ensure that the people we will support get landslide victory.

Barr. D.D. Azura, pledged to continue to remain loyal, progressive and ready for the next chapter.
