Sen Iya Abbas Cleared for APC Primary, Presents Blueprints for Good Governance

 


The Governorship ambition of Senator Aminu Iya Abbas, representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, gained significant momentum today as he successfully appeared before the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Screening Committee in the Federal Capital Territory.


​The screening, a mandatory constitutional requirement for all aspirants on the party’s platform, saw the Senator presenting his credentials and vision for the future of Adamawa State to the high-level panel.


​Senator Abbas, a seasoned legislator known for his strategic approach to governance and legislative mastery, arrived at the party’s screening committee venue accompanied by a cohort of key stakeholders and supporters. 


His appearance before the committee marks a formal transition from an aspirant to a frontline contender for the state’s top executive seat.


​Sen. Abbas supporters have hailed the successful screening as a testament to the Senator’s readiness to provide good governance to Adamawa State.


His track record in the National Assembly, particularly his focus on infrastructure, grassroots development, and legislative harmony, has positioned him as a unifying figure within the party.


​Speaking briefly after the session, Senator Abbas expressed confidence in the party's internal processes and reiterated his commitment to the APC's manifesto. 


He noted that his primary goal remains the transformation of Adamawa through sustainable policies that prioritize education, healthcare, and economic empowerment for all constituents.

The Chief Magistrate Court II sitting in Yola, Adamawa State has remanded the Chairman Concern Citizens Adamawa State, Alh. Husseini Bello Gambo Nakura in prison custody over multiple offences. News Platform  The court presided by Magistrate M. A. Adamu, remanded the defendant in prison custody and adjourned the case to the 17th September, 2025 for commencement of hearing. The Michika Concerned Citizens in Adamawa State have blasted the former Governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna for his outright disrespect to the Paramount Ruler of Michika Chiefdom, HRM.
