Guber Poll: Namdas Storms Ganye Hometown, Assures of Landslide Victory



Governorship Aspirant of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Hon. Abdulrazaq Sa'ad Namdas PhD, on Saturday, received a heroic reception when he stormed Ganye LGA, his hometown ahead of party primary election.



Hon. Namdas, was warmedly received by cream of stakeholders across the zone including former commissioners; royal fathers, former local government chairmen; party executives from the APC; women mobilisers, groups and associations.


The Governorship hopeful and team were received at welcome to Ganye and proceeded to Gangwari Palace where he paid a courtesy visit on HRH, Gangwari, Alh. Umaru Adamu Sanda. 


The train proceeded to Gangwari Square where the Governorship aspirant, steering committee members, coordinators several other personalities addressed hundreds of supporters, party faithful, friends and well wishers.


The event was coordinated by the Namdas homecoming steering committee, gathered cross section of political figures whose presence clearly demonstrates his acceptability and support to his candidacy.


Speaking at the event, Hon. Namdas, expressed gratitude to his people for the overwhelming support, saying that the gathering shows the massive support to him and towards the victory of his governorship ambition and that he is the only one in the zone who obtained governorship ticket.


The governorship hopeful urged supporters to maximise contact with APC members across northern and the central zones to win more support, saying "Let's make sure we utilise this opportunity given to us by God."


He cited Governor Fintiri's explicit promise of free, fair and credible elections at every level as the basis for his confidence in the primary process, and expressed optimism of clinching the ticket.


He assured that under Governor Fintiri, primary election must be without hitches to produce Candidate that will win election for the party, saying hebis happy that under Fintiri's watch, he is going to make sure that elections are conducted.


He appealed to his people to support him to enable him win election in order to consolidate on where Governor Fintiri will stop in infrastructural development, saying that he is a grassroots politician who knows the nooks and crannies of the state.


Several dignitaries who spoke at the event, applauded the leadership qualities of Namdas, explaining that considering the offices he had held, his style of leadership stands him out as a grassroots politician.


The Governorship aspirant, Abdulrazaq Sa'ad Namdas was born on January 1, 1969, in Ganye. His academic journey moved through a BSc in Sociology from Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto.


A postgraduate diploma in Journalism from the Nigeria Institute of Journalism, Jos Campus; a Master's in Criminology and Security Studies from the University of Abuja; and a PhD in Security and Strategic Studies from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, completed in September 2023. 


He holds four degrees, all earned across different phases of a career that has never stopped adding institutional depth to personal ambition.


As a practising journalist, he served as State Correspondent for Daily Times Plc before his writing caught the attention of Governor Boni Haruna, who appointed him Chief Press Secretary. 


He later founded The Viewer Newspaper in 2007. His career then moved into politics, where he was elected to the House of Representatives in the 8th and 9th National Assemblies, representing Jada/Ganye/Mayo-Belwa/Toungo, chairing committees on Media and Public Affairs and the Army, and rising to become Deputy Chairman of the West Africa Caucus in the Pan-African Parliament in Midrand, South Africa.


He was the APC governorship running mate in Adamawa State before his legislative career, and served as Secretary of Logistics and Support Services for the 2023 APC Presidential Campaign Council, the operational role that built his direct relationship with President Tinubu's political organisation.


His traditional title, Gangwi Ganye, was conferred by the Gangwari Ganye, whose silver jubilee on the throne the community is currently celebrating, giving the homecoming a cultural resonance that no campaign event can fabricate.
