2027: Speaker Bathiya Emerges Sole Candidate for Hong Constituency


The Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly who is also member representing Hong Constituency in the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya  Wesley, has emerged a sole candidate for Hong constituency.

Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, emerged the sole candidate under the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) ahead of 2027 general election.

This followed a voice vote held at the local government Secretariat of the party affirming him as only aspirant contesting for the House of Assembly seat under the party. 

The member representing Hong constituency in the state Assembly who is the current Speaker Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley last participated in the Primary election in 2018 where he emerged as the flag bearer of his party to participate in the 2019 elections. 

Being a genuine representative of the people, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley seeks to re -contest in 2023 to continue with the good work for his constituents picked the nomination form of his party unopposed as now one can compete with him. 

As the 2027 general elections is fast approaching history has repeated  itself as no one wants to contest the third term with the people's Speaker as he was affirmed by the people  during the Wednesday's House of Assembly primary elections conducted by APC across the country. 

The massive turn out of people to the party Secretariat to welcome the lawmaker was massive as INEC officials and party electoral officers presided over the exercise. 

In his acceptance Speech Rt Hon Bathiya Wesley thanked the people of Hong for the confidence they have in him and promised not to betray the trust. 

While calling on the people to vote for APC in the forth coming elections saying more development will be provided to the people. 

Called on his supporters to remain calm and conduct themselves peacefully while campaigning. 

The chairman Hong local government Hon Usman Inuwa Wa'aganda said Rt Hon Bathiya Wesley remains the sole candidate of the people of Hong considering his track records in the state Assembly and the development he brought to Hong as their representative in the state Assembly. 

APC leaders in Hong and other stakeholders described the Speaker as a true representative that always put his people first and promised their unflinching support to him at all times.

The Chief Magistrate Court II sitting in Yola, Adamawa State has remanded the Chairman Concern Citizens Adamawa State, Alh. Husseini Bello Gambo Nakura in prison custody over multiple offences. The Michika Concerned Citizens in Adamawa State have blasted the former Governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna for his outright disrespect to the Paramount Ruler of Michika Chiefdom, HRM.
