Sen Iya Abbas Bags Prestigious CMAN Fellowship Award

In a significant recognition of professional excellence and legislative leadership, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Innovation, Science, and Technology, Senator Aminu Iya Abbas, has been named a recipient of the Capital Market Academics of Nigeria (CMAN) Fellowship Award.


​The conferment ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 30, 2026, in Abuja, where Senator Abbas will join an elite cohort of 27 distinguished Nigerians recognized for their contributions to the nation’s economic and financial landscape.


​Senator Abbas’s selection for this fellowship underscores a career built on technical precision and administrative mastery. Beyond his legislative duties, Abbas is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a Forensic Expert, skills that have proven invaluable in his oversight of Nigeria’s burgeoning science and technology sectors.


​His inclusion on a list featuring the Minister of Finance, the Auditor General for the Federation, and top leadership from the Central Bank of Nigeria highlights the high regard in which his colleagues and the academic community hold his expertise.


Senator Abbas is listed alongside prominent figures such as Prof. Taiwo Oyedele (Minister of Finance), Malam Mairiga Aliyu Katuka (SEC Board Chairman), and Dr. Sarah Alade (Former Ag. Governor of CBN). 


As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Innovation, Science, and Technology, his work directly intersects with the digital transformation of Nigeria’s financial and capital markets.


The award recognizes his dual identity as lawmaker and a seasoned professional in financial forensics and fraud examination.


​The CMAN Fellowship comes at a pivotal moment for Senator Abbas, who is currently seeking the Governorship of Adamawa State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Chief Magistrate Court II sitting in Yola, Adamawa State has remanded the Chairman Concern Citizens Adamawa State, Alh. Husseini Bello Gambo Nakura in prison custody over multiple offences. News Platform  The court presided by Magistrate M. A. Adamu, remanded the defendant in prison custody and adjourned the case to the 17th September, 2025 for commencement of hearing. Magistrate Adamu ordered the remand of Nakura when he was arraigned before him over multiple allegations slammed against him by the Adamawa State Police Command. Alh. The Michika Concerned Citizens in Adamawa State have blasted the former Governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna for his outright disrespect to the Paramount Ruler of Michika Chiefdom, HRM.
