Guyuk Legislator Vows to Pursue Establishment of College of Tech, Picks Form
Member representing Guyuk Constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Sunday Peter, has vowed to vigorously pursue the establishment of the College of Technology Guyuk. News Platform
Hon. Sunday Peter made the promise on Friday, shortly after picking All Progressives Congress (APC) nomination form to seek re-election during 2027 general election.
He expressed gratitude to God for the opportunity to re-contest and emphasized the importance of continuity, consolidation, and experience in representation.
He highlighted his experience as a legislator for eight years, with a break of four years, saying that he had sponsored more than five bills and motions in the last three years.
According to him, one of prominent bills is the bill for the establishment of a College of Technology Guyuk, assuring that if given another chance, he will strive towards ensuring the establishment of college for the benefit of not only Guyuk constituents but Numan Federation and Adamawa state in general.
He said that he had lobbied and sponsored motions that have direct bearing on the lives of his people one of which has helped in resolving a crisis between Nungura communities and the Savannah Sugar Company, leading to a harmonious relationship.
He said he successful lobbied for N3 to N4 billion projects implemented in his Constituency by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led administration and installed solar motorized boreholes in various communities.
He disclosed that he had recorded achievements in community development, including electrification projects and the construction of standard classrooms with solar power, infrastructure and education projects.
He said he had personally spent over N15million to make a road motorable and sponsored more than 400 students, facilitated scholarships, employment, and provided financial assistance to youth.
He emphasized the collective efforts of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led administration and his personal initiatives in improving the lives of his constituents and outlined his plans for empowerment through training and youth awareness to promote self-employment.
He stressed the importance of unity and collaboration between the executive and legislative, and local government to bring more development to the people at the grassroots.
He expressed his desire to work hard to bring more dividends of democracy and to sponsor a bills for the establishment of a higher institution among other developmental projects in Guyuk and Adamawa State in general.
