Adamawa State House of Assembly has approved participation of Adamawa State Government in the Federation Account Allocation Committee, FAAC, Receivables Discounting Programme for infrastructure financing. The approval followed the consideration of a letter sent to the assembly by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and read at the plenary by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley. Fintiri informed tye assembly that the State Executive Council at its 7th meeting held on the 18th May, 2026 approved the participation of Adamawa State in the programme to enable the government secure third-party funding for priority infrastructure and capital projects across the state. The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Primary Committee for Adamawa Southern Zone has declared Chief Felix B. Tangwami as the winner of the party’s senatorial primary election. Announcing the results in Numan on Monday, the Returning Officer of the election, Usman H. Mapeo, said the primary election was conducted successfully across 9 LGAs including Demsa, Numan, Lamurde, Mayo-Belwa, Jada, Ganye, Toungo, Guyuk and Shelleng. According to him, the total number of registered voters across the nine LGAs stood at 275,704, while 198,676 voters were accredited for the exercise. A total of 187,675 votes were cast during the primary election. The breakdown of the votes scored by the aspirants showed that Chief Felix B. A middle age man identified as Abubakar Mohammed in Yola, Adamawa State has been remanded in prison custody for the alleged offence of buying stolen items. News Platform  Mohammed, was remanded at the correctional centre along aside a lady known as Fatima Muhammed and Babangida Abubakar. Mohammed who operates business at Falluja market in Jimeta-Yola and 2 other defendants were remanded at correctional centre by the Chief Magistrate Court II presided by M. A. Adamu.   The Adamawa State Police Command on Friday, inaugurated Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) saddled with the responsibility of curtailing emerging security threats. Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the conversion of the Specialist Hospital Yola to Adamawa State University Teaching Hospital. This was made known by the Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Awwal Tukur, while inaugurating members of the conversion committee at Government House, Yola. Barr.
