A sacked Military Officer, Ali Mohammed Wakil, has been convicted and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for killing his girl friend, Miss Patience Amos. The Adamawa State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Nathan Musa, sentenced Ali Mohammed Wakil, on Tuesday, after he was tried and found guilty for the offence as charged. Justice Nathan, held that the prosecution has proven beyond reasonable doubt the elements of offence of culpable homicide not punishable with death contrary to section 193(4) of the penal code law 2018. He however sentenced the convict to 5 years imprisonment without option of fine, declaring that the sentence will start running from the 15th February, 2020, being the first date of the convict's remand. Tragedy was averted in Yola, Adamawa State after 2 suspected "Shila" boys escaped being burnt to death by an angry mob after snatching a mobile phone. The boys, Ibrahim Haruna, 24, of Yola South LGA,  Anas Usman, 20, of State Lowcost in Yola North LGA, and Mohammed Abdul-Azeez (now at large), escaped by whiskers after perpetrating the alleged crime.  Ibrahim and other gang snatched the phone from a young lady at Jippu Jam roundabout on Monday, 8th August, 2022, by 10:00am. The boys who were among the 38 suspects paraded by the Commissioner of Police, S. K. Akande, at the police headquarters on Tuesday. A 58 year old Housewife in Adamawa State has been accused of beaten up her husband's lover with a stick to death after she caught them in the act.  The suspect, Hajaratu Sini, who hails from Wumbirmi Tilli, in Michika Local Government Area, allegedly murdered her husband's lover, Kwada Drambi, on the 31st July, 2022. Hajaratu, mother of 2 who got married to her husband over 40 years ago, was among the 38 suspects paraded by the Adamawa state police command in Yola, on Tuesday. NEWS PLATFORM gathered that Hajaratu's husband, who had been going out with deceased since she lost her husband sometimes ago, were caught having affair by the accused on that fateful by 9:00pm.
