ADAMAWA GOVT TO EXPEND #9 BILLION ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF CLASSROOMS, SAYS ADHA SPEAKER
Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, has said that the state government is set to expend the whooping sum of #9 billion on the construction of blocks of classroom in the next 3 weeks.
According to him, the money will be expended on the construction of blocks of classroom cut across all the districts in the state.
Rt. Hon. Iya Abbas, made this known at a Townhall Meeting organised by International Ruplican Institute(IRI) in collaboration With United States Agency for International Development (UNSAID), and held at Mararaba Mubi, Hong Local Government Area in the state today.
The Townhall Meeting which was supported by the Speaker of Assembly, attracted traditional rulers and other stakeholders in the constituency, who were given the opportunity to present challenges facing their respective communities.
He said that effort of the government of the day is to restore the lost glory of the education sector in line with its free education policy, explaining that the decision taken by the government to expend the resources is aim at revitilising the sector.
He asserted that the major concern of both the executive and legislative arms of government in the state is to ensure that every child is given ample opportunity to access quality education state.
The speaker added that giving quality education to the citizens will make each and everyone of one them to contribute positively to the development of the state, saying that the present administration has so many programmes for the development of the sector.
