SHELLENG COMMUNITIES OUTLINE CHALLENGES FOR GOVT INTERVENTION



Communities cut across 10 Wards in Shelleng Local Government Area of Adamawa state have outlined some of the challenges confronting them with a call on the governments at all levels to intervene toward addressing them.

The communities cut across 10 wards which include; Kiri, Shelleng, Gundo, Katambare, Libo, Bakta, Bodei, Talum, Jungul and Gwapolok identified and presented such challenges for government intervention.

Some of the problems identified by the communities include lack of portable water supply, road network, drainages,employment opportunities, rural electrification, deplorable condition of public structures among other challenges.

Presenting their problems on behalf of their various communities at a town hall meeting organised by International Republican Institute in collaboration with United States Agency for International Development (USAID),and held at Shelleng Local Government Secretariat yesterday, the representatives of the wards said they have a lot of challenges but decided to outline some of them government intervention.

The representatives called on the governments at all levels to look into some of their problems with a view to addressing them for the betterment of their people.

Responding while receiving their complaints, the member representing Shelleng constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Abubakar Isa, thanked the communities and assured them of appropriate action on their complaints.
