HON. MAMUNO UNDERTAKES FAMILIARISATION TOUR ON MDAS
The Chairman House Standing Committee on Finance, Budget and Appropriation and Member representing Demsa constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Kate Mamuno Raymond, has undertaken a familiarisation tour on Ministry, Departments and Agencies under her committee.
Some of the organisations visited by the committee so far include the Ministry of Finance, Board of Internal Revenue (BIR), Planning Commission, Office of the Accountant General and the remaining agencies will be visited in due course.
Speaking at the organisations, the Chairman of the committee, Hon. Kate Mamuno, said that the primary reason behind her visit was to interface, relate and get herself acquainted with some of the activities of the MDAs.
Hon. Mamuno, stated that since the inauguration of her committee by Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas, she has not been able to visit the organisations under her committee; hence, the need to do so in line with laws establishing the honourable committee.
The female legislator appealed for synergy between the the executive and the legislative arms of governments so as to move the state forward by delivering dividends of democracy to their electorates, explaining that the synergy will go along in sustaining harmonious working relationship between them.
She appreciated the MDAs for a warmed reception accorded the committee and promised them to channel some of their problems to the whole house for legislation, assuring them that her committee will prepare to oversight on some of their activities.
In their separate responses, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Deputy Permanent Secretary Planning Commission, Executive Chairman Board of Internal Revenue, Director Treasury Office of the Accountant General Mr. Geoffrey Garba, Mohammed Gangs, Hamman Adama Jabbari, and Titus Solomon, thanked the committee for the visit.
They pledged the readiness of their respective offices to synergize with the house's committee in the overall interest of the state, saying their organisations have respective challenges and that they will forward them to the house at appropriate time for the consideration of the house.
