HON. LEKKI COMMISERATES WITH FLOOD VICTIMS, APPEALS FOR GOVT INTERVENTION
Member representing Yola North constituency at the Adamawa state House of Assembly, Hon. Hamidu Lekki, has commiserated with the victims of flooding which ravaged some parts of his constituency.
The member however appealed to the Federal, State and Local Governments respectively to do everything possible that will bring succour to the victims of the natural disaster.
Hon.Lekki, along side Chairman of Transition Committee, Yola North LGC, Adamu Ibrahim Wakili,commiserated with the victims during an on the- spot -assessment of the devastation caused by the flooding in Jambutu, Bachure and Limawa wards.
The Lawmakers said it has become imperative for him to visit the affected areas and see things for himself so as to know which area he can call on the government to intervene.
He appealed to FG specifically through the National Emergency Management Agency(NEMA)to come in and render support to his electorates.
Hon. Lekki, promised to sponsor a matter of urgent public importance on the floor of the House of Assembly next week so that his colleagues will impress on the state government to come to their aid.
Baring his mind, the Transition Committee Chairman Yola North LGC, Adamu Ibrahim Wakili, disclosed that for the past 30 years, they had never witnessed such flooding considering the kind of damages it has causedin the affected areas.
Ibrahim Wakili, pledged to support the victims at the local government level before the intervention of the State and Federal Government respectively.
Some of the victims who spoke while taking the member and his entourage round the affected areas appreciated the member and the state government for prompt action to ameliorate their hardship.
