Adamawa South Youths Endorse Iya Abbas, Say APC Needs Credible Guber Candidate

Ahead of the 2027 general election, the Adamawa State Southern Senatorial Zone Youths Groups of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have formally endorsed Senator Aminu Iya Abbas, for governorship. News Platform 

The groups declared that Senator Iya Abbas who currently represents Adamawa Central Senatorial District as a personality who stands out as a right man for the job, and threw their behind his gubernatorial ambition.

According to the youth groups, the endorsement of Senator Iya Abbas became necessary considering his track record, insisting that the party needed a credible person capable of winning election.

The youth cut across Numan, Lamurde, Guyuk, Shelleng, Demsa, Mayo Belwa, Jada, Ganye and Toungo LGAs endorsed Iya Abbas, during meeting in Numan LGA on Thursday.

Cross section of youth leaders who spoke at the event, said that the youth groups decided to unanimously endorsed Iya Abbas, and pledged to work towards ensuring his victory during party's primary election and general election respectively.

Speaking, a stakeholder, Bashir Ibrahim, enumerated some of the remarkable achievements recorded by Iya Abbas when he was the Speaker of the House of Assembly and now at the senate.

Bashir told the gathering that he is confident that if given the mandate, Iya Abbas, can consolidate on the developmental projects recorded by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, and called on the party stakeholders and supporters to support him.

Also speaking, Deborah Clement, commended the Senator for declaring his interest to slug it out during the poll, saying Senator Iya Abbas is household name in Adamawa state and beyond and that he is their choice in Southern Zone.

Other speakers who bared their minds lauded Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for transforming Adamawa state, and expressed optimism that Senator has the requisite qualities to consolidate on the gains recorded by Fintiri.

In his welcome address, Wilson Atiman, described the event as historic, explaining that the meeting was convened under a theme that speaks directly to their present reality and their shared future.

He pledged the support of the youth to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's "Renewed Hope" agenda, and equally commended Fintiri for what he described as his relentless drive to economic development.

According to him, for Fintiri's giant strides to be sustained and expanded, Adamawa requires leadership that is tested, trusted, and intellectually grounded, saying "We are here not merely to assemble, but to take a position informed by reason".

He disclosed that Iya Abbas is the leader who understands how to marry the "Renewed Hope" of the Federal Government with the "Fresh Air" developmental strides of our State Government to ensure that the progress they see today does not falter.

Atiman added that when that unity is anchored on a leader like Senator lya Abbas, the dream of a greater Adamawa becomes an achievable reality and urged the youth to approach the decisions before them with the seriousness it deserves.
