Senator Adamawa Central Electrifies Communities after Months of Darkness

In a major boost to local infrastructure and economic activity, Senator Aminu Iya Abbas has successfully overseen the installation of high-capacity transformers in the Makama ‘B’ and Wuro Dole communities.

The installations, which were completed this week, mark a significant milestone in the Senator’s ongoing commitment to resolving chronic power outages within the Adamawa Central Senatorial District.

For the residents of Adarawo Ward and surrounding areas, the new equipment ends a long period of darkness and unreliable electricity that had previously hampered small businesses and household safety.

The Senator, who serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Innovation, Science and Technology, emphasized that these installations are not isolated events but part of a structured "Light Up Adamawa Central" initiative.

By restoring power to Makama ‘B’ and Wuro Dole, we are empowering barbers, tailors, students, and health centers to function at their full potential and Immediate restoration of stable voltage to hundreds of households, better street lighting in the affected wards to deter nighttime crime.

Technical teams have already been deployed to other identified "blackout zones" across the seven local government areas of the district.

Some residents of the benefiting communities, Abubakar Adamu and Blessing Isaac expressed profound relief as the transformers were energized, noting that previous appeals for equipment had gone unanswered for years, making this intervention a "breath of fresh air" for the Makama B and Adarawo Wards.

As the installation phase concludes in Makama ‘B’ and Wuro Dole, Senator Abbas’s technical team is moving to the next set of priority locations. This electricity drive complements the Senator's other recent projects, including solar power technology training for youths and flood mitigation advocacy for the River Benue region.

With more transformers scheduled for installation this week, the Adamawa Central Senatorial District is witnessing a steady transformation of its public utility landscape, promising a brighter and more productive 2026 for its constituents.
