APC Guber Aspirant Dispels Rumours of Imposition, Vows Primary Election Must Take Place
A Governorship Aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Adamawa state, Senator Aminu Iya Abbas, has dispelled rumours making round of an attempt to impose a preferred governorship candidate ahead of primary election. News Platform
Sen. Iya Abbas, who represents Adamawa Central Senatorial District, stated this during an interactive session with journalists in Yola, Adamawa state capital on Sunday, saying primary election must take place to allow electorate decide.
He vowed not to step down for anybody for whatever reason, insising that primary election must take take place in Adamawa state to allow electorate to elect whoever that will be the candidate of the party in the state.
"Well, I don't think there will be imposition in Adamawa state. It is not possible, and we all know the result of imposition in Adamawa state", Sen Iya Abbas warned.
He explained that he is well prepared and not scared to confront other contenders during the primary election, saying that he has garnered experience of both direct and indirect primaries.
He explained that he was the speaker of the assembly and presently elected senator and the next office to aspire as a rational being is the office of the governor.
He used the opportunity and enumerated some of the achievements he had recorded as the speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly and currently as the Senator, saying that he had contributed tremendously to the progress of the state.
He said that time is coming that he is going to unveil his blueprint to the electorate, saying that some of key areas he intends to focus by his administration include strengthening security, total ban on illicit drugs around the state, healthcare and education sectors as well as improve internally generated revenue for the services of the state.
He commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his giant strides in critical sectors and pledged to consolidate on the achievements recorded by the Governor if finally elected as the executive governor of the state.
