Hong/Gombi: Arch. Kussiy Joins Race, Gets Stakeholders Endorsement

An Aspirant for Hong/Gombi Federal Constituency, Architect Julius Jerrison Kussiy, on Friday officially declared his intention to contest for the seat in the forthcoming 2027 elections.

Kussiy, declared his interest when he visited Gombi and Hong Local Government Areas respectively, where he was received by mammoth crowd of supporters and well wishers.

The crowd comprised key stakeholders, party leaders, youth groups, women wings, community mobilizers, grassroots canvassers, and loyal supporters who pledged to stand by him throughout the political journey.

Addressing the enthusiastic supporters, Kussiy said his decision to join the race followed persistent calls from various groups and well-meaning individuals across the constituency who pledged with him to contest.

“I have received numerous calls from different groups and concerned citizens asking me to vie for this position. Today, I have answered that call,” he said.

He expressed gratitude to the people for the confidence reposed in him and assured them of his commitment to effective representation.

Kussiy noted that he has been a loyal member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) since its inception, adding that despite contesting in the past without success, he has consistently supported the party and its candidates.

“I am not a stranger to the workings of the National Assembly. With my experience and network, I am well-positioned to deliver meaningful development to our people,” he stated.

Kussiy also emphasized his role as an employer of labour, noted that many people are currently gainfully employed through his ventures, with others benefiting directly and indirectly, and pledged to prioritize youth empowerment and job creation if elected.

“I am not contesting for personal gain. God has blessed me sufficiently. My ambition is driven by the desire to serve and uplift our people, especially the youth,” he added.

Several speakers at the events, representing different groups across the constituency, commended Kussiy’s leadership qualities, generosity, and track record.

They expressed confidence in his capacity to represent the people effectively and pledged their full support for his candidacy.

Political observers posited that Kussiy stands a strong chance if given the opportunity, citing his experience, grassroots connection, and broad support base as key advantages.
