Sen Iya Abbas Condemns Insurgent Attack in Gombi LGA, Calls for Vigilance

Senator representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, Aminu Iya Abbas, expressed sadness over the recent insurgent attack on the Guyaku community, Gombi LGA.

The Senator strongly condemned the insurgent attack which occurred on Sunday, and called security personnel to beef up security.

Sen Iya Abbas, described the breach of peace as a "source of serious concern" that threatens the stability and well-being of the hardworking people of Gombi LGA. 

He extended his heartfelt commiserations to the victims, their families, and the entire Guyaku district following this unprovoked assault.

Sen. Iya Abbas ia statement made available to newsmen through his media office, assured constituents that this security lapses would not be overlooked. 

He said he is committed to presenting the matter before the appropriate authorities at the federal level to ensure that the necessary resources and personnel are deployed to prevent a recurrence.

​"The safety of our people is non-negotiable," the Senator stated. "I will be bringing this specific incident to the attention of the relevant security leadership and the Senate to ensure that the Guyaku district and surrounding areas receive the protection they deserve."

Senator Abbas emphasized that security is a collective responsibility and urged residents of Gombi and the wider Adamawa Central district to remain calm but extremely observant.

​The Senator advised all community members to be vigilant, monitor any unusual activities within their neighborhoods and report suspicious movement relevant security operatives or traditional rulers if unfamiliar individuals or suspicious gatherings are spotted.

​He further urged them to maintain a close working relationship with local security committees and law enforcement to create a hostile environment for criminal elements.
