Senate President Appoints Sen Amos Yohanna Chair C'ttee on Regional Devt



Senate President, Godswill Apkabio, has appointed the Senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, Amos K. Yohanna, as Chairman Senate Committee on Regional Development with Immediate effect.


Senator Amos Yohanna will now oversee all Ministries, Agencies and Parastatals under his new committee. 


A statement from Victor Kwambuge, Ph.D, Senior Legislative Aide/Chief of Staff to Senator Amos, announced that the appointment is with Immediate effort from the 29th April, 2026.

 

Victor Kwambuge said, "I am thrilled to announce that today, 29th April, 2026, the 10th Senate under the leadership of Sen. Godwill O. Akpabio has appointed Distinguished Senator Amos K. Yohanna as Chairman, Senate Committee on Regional Development effective today. In this new role, the Distinguished Senator will oversee all Ministries, Agencies and Parastatals under this Committee. 


He extended his hearty felicitations to his Principal, Senator Amos K. Yohanna, whom he described as uncommon leader and wished him an impactful tenure ahead.

The Chief Magistrate Court II sitting in Yola, Adamawa State has remanded the Chairman Concern Citizens Adamawa State, Alh. Husseini Bello Gambo Nakura in prison custody over multiple offences. News Platform  The court presided by Magistrate M. A. Adamu, remanded the defendant in prison custody and adjourned the case to the 17th September, 2025 for commencement of hearing. The Michika Concerned Citizens in Adamawa State have blasted the former Governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna for his outright disrespect to the Paramount Ruler of Michika Chiefdom, HRM.
