Guber Poll. Sen. Iya Abbas Declares Interest, Says He is Better Alternative to Fintiri



The Senator representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, Aminu Iya Abbas, on Friday, declared his interest to contest the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa under the platform of the APC. News Platform 


Senator Iya Abbas, who disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Yola, Adamawa State, said that he is well prepared to slug it out during the election, assuring that God's willing he is going to win the election.


He explained that he will be a better alternative to succeed Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri come 2027, and promised to consolidate on the remarkable achievements recorded by the Governor.


He disclosed that the new Adamawa they have today, is the product of all of them, and that he was part of the foundation for the formation new Adamawa, saying that he was part of the history and doesn't want it to stop.


He added that they want to continue on the trajectory Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, will be leaving behind so that Adamawa state will move on the part of progress started by Governor Fintiri.


He said that he had contributed tremendously to the progress and development of the state when he was the Speaker of the assembly which brought about development the citizens are witnessing today.


He pointed out Governor Fintiri has restored peace in Adamawa State and pledged to build on it on his assumption of office for the overall progress of Adamawa State.


He used the opportunity and enumerated some of the achievements he had recorded as the Senator representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District as well as when he was the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly.


He said that he had sponsored several people oriented bills, motions and co-sponsored many other bills and lobbied for dividends of democracy for his electorate, saying he is one of the top ten senator in sponsoring of bills at the NASS.


He told newsmen that he was able to carry out so many empowerment programmes, medical outreach and host of other programmes that directly or indirectly impacted on the lives of constituents.


He commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his effort in bringing a system that everybody feels he is part of Adamawa state and he will be best leader to maintain it.

    Sen. Aminu Iya Abbas, truly has impacted lives not only within his constituency but the entire Adamawa state. I am a Christian, I will Boldly say, we the from the Christian Community of the state benefitted from all his medical outreach, employment in the Federal agencies, scholarships etc that has touched the lives of many. We strongly believe that Sen. Aminu Iya Abbas if voted into the state house, he will continue the good works of our dear Governor, his Excellency Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
    Let's build legacy.

The Chief Magistrate Court II sitting in Yola, Adamawa State has remanded the Chairman Concern Citizens Adamawa State, Alh. Husseini Bello Gambo Nakura in prison custody over multiple offences.
