Guyaku Attack: Sen Iya Abbas Vows to Ensure Security of Electorate



The Senator representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, Aminu Iya Abbas, has visited Guyaku community in Gombi LGA, consoling the victims of insurgent attack.


Senator Iya Abbas used the opportunity and assessed the level of damage caused by the insurgent attack, and expressed deep sadness over the breach of peace.


He described the incident as a "source of serious concern" which threatens the stability of the hardworking people of Gombi LGA.


Commiserating the community, Senator Abbas assured that the security lapses would not be overlooked, saying he had contacted appropriate authorities at the federal level to ensure that necessary resources and personnel are deployed to prevent any recurrence.


"The safety of our people is non-negotiable. I will be bringing this specific incident to the attention of the relevant security leadership and the Senate to ensure that the Guyaku district and surrounding areas receive the protection they deserve."


He emphasized that security is a collective responsibility and urged residents of Gombi and the wider Adamawa Central district to remain calm but extremely observant.


He advised community members to monitor and scrutinize any unusual activities within their neighborhoods. 


He encouraged reporting suspicious movements to security operatives or traditional rulers immediately if unfamiliar individuals or suspicious gatherings are spotted.
