Easter: Speaker Bathiya Urges Citizens to Embrace Peace, Unity
As Christians faithful around world commemorate Easter, the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, has urged citizens to embrace peace, love and unity for the progress of the society.
Rt. Hon. Bathiya, on behalf of the entire members of the Assembly extended warm Easter greetings to the good people of Adamawa State and all Nigerians as they mark the sacred season of reflection, sacrifice, and renewal.
The Speaker in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Hyellamada Bernard said Easter reminds faithful of the enduring values of love, humility, and selflessness demonstrated through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
It added that it is a time that calls for deep reflection on their collective responsibility to foster peace, unity, and progress within our communities and across the state.
The Speaker urged citizens to embrace the spirit of Easter by promoting harmony, tolerance, and compassion, regardless of religious, ethnic, or political differences.
He emphasized that sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and mutual respect, hence, the need for citizens to continue to support Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for more devidents of democracy.
He further reassured Adamawa electorate on continued commitment to enacting people-oriented legislation and supporting policies that will enhance good governance, security, and economic growth in the state.
While wishing everyone a joyful and peaceful Easter celebration, the Speaker also called on citizens to remain law-abiding and continue to support government efforts aimed at building a prosperous and united Adamawa State.
