Namdas Declares Interest, Says he is the Best APC Guber Aspirant
The Governorship Aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa state, Hon. Abdulrazak Sa'ad Namdas PhD on Wednesday, officially declared his interest to contest for governorship in the forthcoming 2027 general election.
Hon. Namdas, declared his interest while addressing a mammoth crowd of supporters and well wishers who converged in Yola, Adamawa State to witness his formal declaration for governorship.
The event gathered hundreds of supporters across the 21 LGAs, Chairman and members of Steering Committee, Zonal and LGA Coordinators, support groups including Mata Nagari Foundation, Namdas Great Women Child Care and Orphanage, CDL Family, Best of Friends, Adamawa State Pensioners, Bahure Progressives Union, Haske Entertainment Numan.
Others include Namdas Solidarity Forum, Chamber Elders Forum, Chamber Cultural Association, Abuja Support Group, Chamber Community Mubi, Mbula Support Group for Namdas and Bachama Support Group for Namdas and hosts of others.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Namdas, said that he criss crossed the nooks and crannies of the state, and that 80 percent of stakeholders he had consulted agreed that he should go ahead and contest the office of the governor of the state.
He said, "Today, being 22nd April, 2027, I hereby declare that I want to run for the office of Governor of Adamawa state come 2027. Other aspirants that are contesting are also qualified, but I am the best to occupy Dougirei Government House".
He disclosed that he was motivated to join the race by Governor Ahmadu Umaru's speech that he will hand over power God's willing to a grassroot politician and described himsell as the grassroots politician.
He noted that Governor Fintiri has tried in so many ways and that he is elected, he will consolidate in order to develop rural communities, build on health, education, provide security for lives and property, proffer lasting solution on clashes between farmers and herders, implement quality programmes for women, youth and the elderly in the society.
He explained that he is in the race not for consensus and vowed that no aspirant will be imposed on the electorate because according to him, the Chairman APC, Alhaji, Hamza, Belo madagali, Governor Fintiri and the National Security Adviser, Mal. Nuhu Ribadu, have promised that the exercise will be free and fair.
He tasked his coordinators and supporters to go back home and start campaign for him and stop thinking about whether there is going to be a consensus or not, assuring that there nothing like consensus or imposition.
"As far as I'm concerned, nobody is going to impose anybody. As far as Adamawa state is concerned, we are going to support the Governor. We are also going to support the chairman and the exco of the party.
Speaking on behalf Chairmen of Jada, Ganye and Toungo LGCs, the Chairman of Ganye, Hon. Farouk Jauro, said that the LGAs brought Hon. Namdas, whom he described as a good leader who can be trusted and appealed for the support of the entire electorate in the state.
In her remarks, the former Senator Adamawa North Senatorial District, Hon. Binta Masi Garba, said that they have gathered to celebrate and prayed God to crown their effort with success.
She said that Hon. Namdas, has good intention for the Adamawa state citizens, saying that the victory of APC is their number one project.
In his remarks, the former Chairman PDP, Adamawa State, T. Shehu, said stated that it is the turn of the southern Senatorial Zone to produce the next Governor.
In his welcome address, the Chairman Steering Committee Namdas Campaign Organisation, Hon. Abdulrahman Shuaibu, said that they gathered from various LGAs for the declaration of Hon. Namdas.
In her goodwill message, Coordinator Northern Zone, Hajiya Halima Hayatu, described him as a man of integrity, humility, and vision and that he will continue where Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, will stop.
In their separate goodwill messages, the Coordinators Central and Southern Zones respectively, Hon. Barkindo Hamanjoda and Penuel Medan, appealed for support to enable him win the election.
He described him as a credible and trustworthy leader who can do justice to the citizens, saying that Hon. Namdas, had served as Secretary Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Chief Press Secretary to former Governor Boni Haruna.
He said that he contested and won election and represented Mayo Belwa, Jada, Ganye and Toungo at the House of Representatives, and also contested for Governorship and held several positions in the society.
He said that whoever wants to contest election even if it is councillorship he or she should show what he or she has done for his electorate, calling on their supporters to work hard for the victory of Namdas.
