Tangwami Receives Heroic Welcome, Vows not to Disappoint Adamawa




Hundreds of supporters, party faithful as well as well wishers on Thursday, thronged Lamido Aliyu International Airport to welcome and celebrate the Governorship Aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Felix Tangwami. News Platform 


The Governorship Hopeful and his wife returned to Yola from Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory after picking governorship nomination form to contest 2027 general election.


He was received by several commissioners, other political appointees, unions, women groups, campaign officials, party officials as well as mass supporters who congratulated him for purchasing the nomination form.


Addressing his supporters, Chief Tangwami, appreciated them for defying the harsh weather in order to welcome, assuring that he will not disappoint Adamawa electorate if given the mandate.


He said that he had obtained his nomination form to contest for governorship and expressed optimism that the party will conduct a credible primary election which he is confident of winning.


"Well, the next thing is to prepare so that we get the primary. Another thing is to galvanize support ahead of primary election. 


"So what we'll be doing now is to continue with more consultations, especially stakeholders, party leaders and, of course, card carry members of the APC so that they can give us the support during the primary elections", he stated.


He emphasized on the importance of consultations to get adequate support during primary elections, and stressed the need for careful adherence to procedures to ensure smooth process.


He said "There are procedures in everything you do. When procedures are followed, you don't have problem. Where there are issues is when procedures are not followed. These elections will be conducted at wards level, collated at the LG center and then send to the state secretariat.


"I have much experience. I've been part of this game for many years. I've been part of governance since 1997. In fact, in 1994, I became a councilor in my Local Government Area. I've been part of it. 


"Before then, I was part of labor movement, and leader in the labor movement. So for you to be a labor leader, you must know how the system works. And so after one position or the other, I garnered a lot of experience that is needed to pilot the affairs of Dougirei Government House.


He thanked his supporters and all the people that came out to welcome him, pointing out that he is extremely happy about the show of love and solidarity.


"It shows that people are with us. And what do I say? I thank God. I thank them for this show of love. And one thing I kept repeating, the people will not be disappointed," he assured.
