FINTIRI CONDOLES FAMILIES OF LATE JIDDA PARIYA, AHMED MAHMUD

Late Jidda Pariya, PA to ex-VP Alh. Atiku Abubakar Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has sympathised with the family of Late Jidda Pariya,  who died on the early hours of today. Late Jidda Pariya was the Personal Assistant (PA) to the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. Equally, Governor Fintiri has condoled the family of Late Ahmed Mahmud, one of the longest serving career protocol officers who died on yesterday at the age of 70. A statement signed by the Director General (DG) Media and Communications, Solomon Kumangar and made available to NEWS PLATFORM today, described the deceased as an illustrious sons whose death is a great loss to the state and the country at large. The Governor Fintiri prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed and for God to grant both the families and close associates fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

ADAMAWA GOVT TO UNVEIL STRATEGIC DEVT PLANS FOR ECONOMIC GROWTH

Adamawa State Government says it will soon unveil its strategic development plans for the overall socio- economic advancement of the state. The Government however posited that it will engage top government functionaries in the retreat for better understanding of government policy direction and its programmes in critical sectors of the economy. Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri stated this while declaring open a One-Day Induction Exercise for Commissioners Designate held at the Admiral Murtala Nyako Training Center in Yola, yestarday. Fintiri disclosed that it is his administration's plan to chart a new course for socio economic development of the state in the next few weeks. GUNMEN KILL 5 LOCAL HUNTERS IN GOMBI LGA

About 5 Local Hunters have been killed by suspected Book Haram insurgents in Zumo, Gombi Local Government Area Adamawa state. According to reports, the dreaded Book Haram insurgents who were riding on camels murdered the local hunters in the LGA over the weekend. Local sources DAILY TRUST that the attackers ambushed their victims on Friday, in a forested area near Zumo village and killed their victims. A member of the Local Hunters’ group who sought anonymity, said the attackers were Boko Haram members targeting security and vigilant groups. When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer for Adamawa Command, Sulaiman Nguroje, said a group of armed bandits had an encounter with a hunter on his farm and the hunter mobilised four of his colleagues from Gombi to face the bandits. He added that when the hunters did not come back on Friday, their leaders informed the police and a search party was sent to the area. He said the bodies of the hunters were found on Saturday.

INDUCTION EXERCISE FOR COMMISSIONERS DESIGNATE OPENS IN YOLA

A one day induction training for Commissioners Designate organised by Adamawa State Government has kicked started in Yola the state capital. The exercise is part of activities put together by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led administration to introduce and familiarise the participants with the processes, procedures of the public service as well as adherence to fiscal discipline. Speaking while declaring the induction exercise open, the Executive Governor of the state, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, said that the event is part of programmes designed to get the best of the state executive council. AGMC GETS MEDICAL EQUIPMENT 12 YEARS AFTER PURCHASE AS FINTIRI APPROVES #46MILLION

About 6 Containers containing modern medical equipment which were purchased by erstwhile Governor Murtala Nyako, for Adamawa German Medical Center(AGMC), Yola and abandoned at Lagos port for over 12 years have arrived. The containers loaded with medical equipment were supplied by Baba Mai Mongoro led administration for the maternity section of AGMC but dumped at the port for over 12 years by 4 successive adminstration, until the intervention by the present administration. The release of the containers by the Clearing Agent and subsequent arrival in Yola followed the approval for the payment of the whooping #46million to the Agent by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. NEWS PLATFORM learnt that already about #26million has been released to the Clearing Agent, and remained #20 million balance which will be paid to the agent after delivering the containers to German Medical Center in Yola. ADAMAWA NUJ CHAIRMAN LOSES SISTER

The Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Adamawa state council, Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan, has lost his biological sister. A statement by the Secretary of the council, Comrade Fedelis Jockthan said that the sister to the Chairman, Viola Dedan, died on the 13th November, 2019. Comrade Jockthan said that the deceased who was a biological sister to the NUJ boss, Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan would be remembered for her humility, meekness and as a devoted Christian. According to him, the leadership of the union and its entire members, received with great shock, the sudden death of their beloved sister,Viola Dedan who was called to glory on 13th November, 2019. ADAMAWA MP MOURNS AS ACCIDENT, POLICE SHOOTING CLAIM LIVES

Following the tragic accident and police encounter with operators of tricycles which left several people dead, the member representing Yola north constituency at the Adamawa state House of Assembly, Hon. Hamidu Sajo Lekki has expressed sadness over the ugly incident which occurred on the Jimeta bridge. The Honourable member has further sympathised with the victims, and said that he was deeply touched over the terrible incident on Jimeta bridge, on Tuesday. The Chairman House Standing Committee on Health and Human Services, noted that when he heard the news of the accident in his constituency, he immediately visited the scene and said what he saw was terrifying.
