MAN BAGS 54 YEARS JAIL TERM FOR FORGERY, IMPERSONATION IN ADAMAWA

Adamawa State High Court sitting in Yola, the state capital has today convicted a middle age man, Ibrahim Mustapha for 54 years imprisonment over forgery and impersonation. According to the Honourable Court presided by Justice Nathan Musa, the 54 years jail term will run concurrently. The convict was paraded by the Department of State Security Services (DSS) in the state for operating as medical doctor illegally under the Adamawa State government since 2015. Ibrahim was said to have secured his employment into the State Hospital Services Management Board in October 2015, as a doctor and rose to the post of Principal Medical Officer who served at the cottage hospitals in Mayo Belwa and Fufore Local Government Areas respectively. FINTIRI TO SWEAR IN NEWLY ELECTED LGCs CHAIRMEN TOMORROW

Gov Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state has approved Monday for the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected Local Government Councils Chairmen in the state. A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government(SSG), Mallam Bashir Ahmed and made available to NEWS PLATFORM this evening said that the Governor has fixed Monday for the exercise. He said that all the 21 Chairmen elect will be presented with their Certificates of Return by the State Independent Electoral Commission(ADSIEC) prior to the swearing ceremony which will take place at the Mahmud Ribadu Square at 9:00 o'clock am. Announcing the outcome of the polls at ADSIEC today, the Chairman of the Commission Alh. Kate Raymond Mamuno Demsa const ADHA casting her votes As Adamawa citizens await the outcome of today's Local Government Councils elections across the state, the member representing Demsa constituency at the state House of Assembly, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise. Hon. Kate Mamuno who expressed her satisfaction after exercising her civic right in her constituency today, noted with delight how the election has been generally peaceful in Demsa. The female Lawmaker said that the election is a civic responsibility for all citizens, and that she was in her constituency to cast her votes, commending the way the exercise has been carried out.
