FINTIRI ROUNDS UP 2 DAY OFFICIAL VISIT, ASSURES OF EVEN DEVT

Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has rounded up a 2 day official visit in northern part of the state, assuring of even infrastructural development in the state. The northern part of the state comprises of Michika, Madagali, Mubi North, Mubi South and Maiha Local Government Areas. Governor Fintiri gave the assurance in Hong Local Government Area shortly after rounding up his visit in the northern part of state Saturday. He reiterated the commitment of his government towards the provision of  infrastructural facilities at all parts of the state, saying that no LGA will be left out without the presence of his government. YOLA APPEAL COURT UPTURNS 15 YEAR JAIL TERM AGAINST POLICE OFFICER

The Appeal Court sitting in Yola, the Adamawa state capital has nullified the 15 year jail term slammed on a police officer by Yola high court for culpable homicide. The police officer, Lazarus Daniel, was serving with Fufore Divisional Police headquarters in Adamawa state until the incident. It could be recalled that the Yola high, presided by Honourable Justice Abdul-Aziz Waziri sentenced the officer for 15 years imprisonment for murder. The convict who was not satisfied with the verdict appealed the judgement to the Court of Appeal in order to seek for redress. But delivering its judgement on the matter during the week, the Appeal Court presided by Justice Chidi Nwaoma Uwa discharged and acquitted the officer.

TWO MEN ARRAIGNED BEFORE YOLA HIGH COURT FOR RAPE

Two middle age men, Sadiq Ahmed and Mohammed Aliyu have been arraigned before a Yola High Court in Adamawa State for allegedly raping a teenager names withheld at Vunoklang in Girei Local Government Area in the state. The duo unlawfully had sexual intercourse with the teenager without her consent. Sadiq and Mohammed were arraigned before the court on 3 Count Charge of criminal conspiracy to commit rape with the girl punishable under section 60 (1) of Penal Code law of Adamawa state 2018. According to the prosecution, both the accused committed the offence on the 11th October, 2018 at Vunoklang in Girei LGA. The prosecution added that the suspects agreed to do illegal act to have sexual intercourse by deceitful means where they conveyed the said teenager in a tricycle to Vunoklang ward in Girei LGA, instead of her father's house at Rumde ward in Yola North LGA without her consent and had sexual intercourse with her. APC, FINTIRI TO KNOW FATE AT SUPREME COURT BEFORE FEBRUARY 5

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State The Supreme Court of Nigeria holding at Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory is to deliver judgement in an appeal instituted by the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) against the ruling Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state on or before 5th February, 2020. This is in pursuance to section 285 sub section 7 of the 1999 Constitution as amended which provided that matters of this magnitude should be determined within 60 days of judgement delivered at the lower court. It could be recalled that on the 5th December, 2019, the Court of Appeal sitting Yola, the Adamawa state capital had delivered judgement on the appeal filed before it by APC, challenging the decision of the Election Petition Tribunal which affirmed the election of Fintiri. ADAMAWA GOVT TO RESUSCITATE SPECIALIST HOSPITAL, OTHERS

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state Concerned with the deplorable condition of health facilities, Adamawa state Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has pledged the commitment of his government to resuscitating the state Specialist Hospital and other health centers in and around the state for effective service delivery. Likewise, the Governor pledged to do everything possible towards mobilising the Contractor who transported 6 Containers loaded with medical equipment procured and abandoned at port in Lagos so as to complete the contract and subsequently install equipment for usage. The containers were supplied by the former Governor Murtala Nyako's administration for State German Medical Center(AGMC) but abandoned at the port for over 10 years. NIGERIA IS 4TH MOST AT RISK COUNTRY FOR HUMANITARIAN CATASTROPHE IN 2020 — IRC

President Muhammad Buhari of Nigeria New analysis by experts from the International Rescue Committee, IRC, has ranked Nigeria as the 4th most at risk country for humanitarian catastrophe in 2020 after Yemen ,the Democratic Republic of Congo and Syria. Nigeria was ranked 8th in the previous analysis for 2019. The latest ranking by the IRC emergency response experts showed that other countries on the top 10 list are Venezuela (5th), Afghanistan (6th), South Sudan (7th), Burkina Faso (8th), Somalia (9th) and the Central African Republic, CAR (10th). In a statement released Tuesday, the IRC observed that Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Syria and Venezuela are Watchlist 2020’s top five crises, all five of which ranked highly in the 2019 list, demonstrating collective failure of the international community to resolve the root causes of these humanitarian disasters.
