YOLA COURT REMANDS ROYAL FATHER, DEACON FOR ACCUSING WOMAN OF WITCHCRAFT

  For allegedly accusing a 50 year old woman of witchcraft, the Ward Head Palamole and a Deacon in Guyuk Local Government Area, Adamawa state have been remanded in prison over defamation of character. The Ward Head, Yoila and Deacon Markus were charged before Chief Magistrate court 4 for accusing 50 year old woman, Yaliga Chrisjones of Palamole of witchcraft and alleged that it was the woman that bewitched one Sunday Markus. Earlier, Yaliga in a direct criminal complaint lodged against the defendants, alleged that the defendants threatened to kill as a result of which she fled her matrimonial home and has been away for 5 years now. She narrated that the defendants criminally conspired and called her a witch who bewitched one Sunday Markus, whom she was sharing boundary in the farm. According to her, there was a time that she begged for beans seedlings from Sunday to complete planting her farm when herself and Sunday were working in their different farms in Guyuk in 2015.  ...

Legislators at the Adamawa state House of Assembly have enacted a bill to eliminate violence in private and public life, prohibit all forms of violence against persons in the state. NEWS PLATFORM gathered that the law does not only prohibit all forms of violence against persons but also provide maximum protection and effective remedies for the victims and punishment of the offenders.  The passage of the legislation followed a motion to that effect by the Majority Leader of the House and Member representing Numan constituency, Hon. LADY 25, 4 OTHERS REMANDED IN PRISON FOR STEALING #410,000 PROPERTY

Hanatu Hakinga, a staff of Lelewal Motel in Yola North Local Government Area, Adamawa state along side 4 other staff of the motel have been remanded in prison custody over allegations of theft. Those joined as 1st to 5th defendants and remanded in a Yola prison custody in connection to the alleged offence include; Harrison Yohanna,40, Kanisin Edwin, 40, Haruna Maze, 37, Nicholas Lawrence, Hannatu Hakinga, 25, and Abigail Yerima at large. Some of the items carted away by the defendants include; 5 bedroom carpets, 5 bedsheets, 15 pillow case, 16 cotton linings valued at #410,000, contrary to sections 60 and 276 of the state penal code law.  The Chief Magistrate Court I Admin Yola presided by Aliyu Bawuro issued the order when the lady and 4 other defendants and staff of the hotel were arraigned before the court over the allegation. DEMSA LGC BOSS ON THE RUN AS COURT ORDERS CP TO ARREST HIM OVER DEBT

  An Upper Area Court II sitting in Yola, Adamawa state on Wednesday issued a bench warrant for immediate arrest of the Executive Chairman Demsa Local Government Council, Chief Elkanah Kados Fwah, over #4.2 million debt. To successfully effect the arrest, the Court presided by Honourable Daniel John, however ordered the Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Alhaji, to apprehend the Chairman wherever he may be found in compliance with section 41(1) Adamawa Criminal Justice Law. The Chairman was said to have been served with the court process on the 1st March, 2021 to appear before it on the 3rd March, 2021, but could not honour the process and appear before it as served. It all began with a direct criminal complaint by Abubakar Abdullahi brought pursuant to section 111 of the Adamawa State Administration of Criminal Justice Law against the LGC. FRESH TROUBLE FOR PASTOR, HOUSE WIFE ACCUSED OF ADULTERY, ABORTION IN ADAMAWA

  Founder of Liberty International Gospel Centre, Yola in Adamawa, Pastor Ebenezer Otueke Otinjele who was arrested by the police along side a female Pastor and house wife, Juliana Ezra for adultery, abortion and threat to life of the husband but pleaded for out of court settlement, has finally been arraigned before Chief Magistrate Court II for breaching the terms of agreement. The husband to the female pastor (names withheld) had through his Counsel, Sule J. Abul, petitioned the Commissioner of  Police in charge of Adamawa State on 7th January, 2021, accusing Pastor Ebenezar of infidelity with his wife which resulted to bearing of two children. Both the pastor and the wife were promptly arrested and detained on the 12th January, 2021, but before they could be charged to court by the police, top officials of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pentecostal Fellowship (PFN) friends and the accused persons pleaded for out of court settlement.  The embattled Business Man...
