MOTHER, DAUGHTER ABDUCTED IN NGURORE ESCAPE FROM KIDNAPPERS' DEN

Hauwa Umaru and her daughter of Ngurore in Yola South Local Government Area who were abducted on Sunday last week have escaped from the den of their abductors. Yet to be identified gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Sunday attacked Ngurore police station and kidnapped Hauwa and her daughter in a nearby house. But in a statement by the image maker of the state police command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, which was made available to NEWS PLATFORM on Tuesday, said that Hauwa and her daughter have escasped from kidnappers' den. DSP Nguroje, said that the abducted mother and daugther have escaped from captivity, and "that they were rescued by the police unharmed". He said that command's operatives and members of vigilantes gave hurt chase to the kidnappers and that the kidnappers abandoned the victims and escaped for their lives .

COURT CONVICTS 3 "SHILA" BOYS FOR SNATCHING, SELLING PHONE N1,700

Chief Magistrate Court I Admin in Yola, Adamawa state on Monday, convicted and sentenced 3 "Shila" boys to 2 to 3 years inprisonment. The dreaded "Shila" boys were sent to prison by Chief Magistrate Aliyu Bawuro, after they were tried and found guilty of extortion, being in possession of stolen property and receiving stolen property. The boys, Labaran Mohammed, 18, of Gerio Junction was sentenced to 3 years in prison without option of fine, while an 18 year old Zaradeen Adamu of Jambutu and Solomon Abel (21) of Demsawo were sentenced to 2 years each with an option of 20, 000, fine. Earlier, the prosecution informed the court during the arraignment that the 1st convict, Labaran, had attacked one Cosmos Ezeugwu, of Demsawo ward in Yola North LGA with a knife on the 16th September,  2021. 2 KIDNAPPERS WHO DEMANDED N5M RANSOM ON 8 YR OLD BOY ARRESTED

Two suspected interstate kidnappers who demanded N5million ransom before releasing an 8 year old boy in Adamawa state have been arrested. The suspects, Junaidu Muhammed, 28 and Aliyu Alhaji Aliyu, 55 are residents of Lambata Local Government Area, Niger state. A statement by the Police Public Relation Officer(PPRO), DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said that the accused persons were arrested on the 3rd October, 2021 by the command's operatives attached to State intelligent Bureau (SIB) in Yola. He said that the operatives acted on a report lodged by one Alhaji Hamisu Sule a resident of Lafiya village, a suburb of Chigari in Fufore LGA on the 1st October, 2021 on the abduction of his 8 year old son named Jafaru Hamisu. He said that the accused persons who took the boy to Niger state,  demanded N5million ranson before releasing him, saying during the operation, the police were able to rescue the boy and recovered the sum of N40, 000 from the suspects.

ADHA GIVES 24 HRS TO LGCs TO SUBMIT STATEMENT OF ACCTS, IGR, OTHERS

Members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly on Monday, gave 24 hours to the Chairmen of the 21 Local Government Councils to submit statement of accounts and documents on internally generated revenues. Other documents to be submitted to the Central Committee on Assessment of the Projects include; residual balance since inception to date, documents on the projects executed and any document pertaining the finances of their LGCs within 24 hours. NEWS PLATFORM learnt that lack of submission of the documents to the ad hoc committees as required for upward submission to the Central Committee had affected the presentation of the reports on the assessment of the projects before the assembly on Monday. The ad hoc committees had on Thursday and Friday last week visited all the 21 LGAs where they assessed the developmental projects executed by the chairmen, and directed the affected chairmen to submit the documents for verification and submission. Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) has condoled with the Ministry of Justice, Adamawa state over the death of its former Permanent Secretary, Mr. Yusuf Manasseh Daniel. Equally, Gadzama, has sympathised with the Nigeria Bar Association(NBA) state branch and the family of late Daniel, who was called to glory on the 5th October, 2021, and committed to mother earth on the 9th October, 2021 at his hometown, Banjiram in Guyuk LGA. The Legal Luminary said that he received with a rude shock and deep regrets the demise of Mr. Daniel and extended his condolences to the family. According to him, the departure of Mr. Daniel, is not only a great loss to his family but NBA family as well, saying that the deceased will surely be missed. Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama, also prayed God to grant the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss.
