ADHA LEGISLATOR DISBURSES CASH TO 1000...GETS MASSIVE SUPPORT FOR 2ND TERM

Member representing Yola North Constituency at the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Hamidu Sajo Lekki, on Friday disbursed cash to about 1000 women and youths. The beneficiaries who cut across the 11 wards which comprise Yola North constituency, were given from N10, 000, to N50, 000, cash depending on their types of businesses. This is the 1st phase of 2022 empowerment programme organised by Hon. Lekki, aimed at providing cash support to his constituents so as to make them become self reliant in the society. NEWS PLATFORM recalled that Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, recently approved the sum of N40 million each to all the Honourable Members to execute constituency projects to their electorate; hence, Hon. POLICE DEPLOY 6, 756 PERSONNEL FOR ADAMAWA LG POLLS

Ahead of Saturday 9th Local Government Councils election, the Adamawa State Police Command says it has deployed 6, 756 personnel so as to ensure hitch free exercise. The spokesman of the command, DSP Suleiman Yahya Nguroje, who stated this in a chat with NEWS PLATFORM on Thursday, said that personnel are to maintain law and order before, during and after the exercise. DSP Nguroje said that the personnel will be assisted by sister agencies such as the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corpse(NSCDC, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) and Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS) among others so as to ensure peaceful execise.

ADAMAWA POLICE ARREST 4 WITH 144 CARTONS OF HARD DRUGS

Police in Adamawa State have arrested 4 alleged Dealers of hard drugs with 144 cartons of assorted drugs on their way to Mubi.   The police allegedly recovered  28 cartons of pentazone injections, 29 cartons of tramadol tabs, 74 cartons of red tramadol capsule,12 cartons of 50mg of white tramadol, 1 carton of curfenac, in a truck with with Reg.YL 766 XU.  Those arrested include; Salisu Hassan, 27, resident of Nasarawo, Yola North, Iliyasu Umar, 25, resident of Song LGA, Abdullahi Salisu, 20 and Umar Babayo, 20, residents of Sangere, Numan road,Yola South LGA.  A statement by the PPRO, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, and made available to NEWS PLATFORM, said that the suspects were apprehended on the 3rd April, 2022. He said that they were arrested while on their way from Anambra State to Mubi in Adamawa State to deliver the drugs to their target. BREAKING: ADAMAWA ASSEMBLY PASSES MEDIA SALARY BILL

Adamawa State House of Assembly on Wednesday, passed a bill for a law to increase the retirement years and other allowences for media workers so as to enhance their condition of the service. The bill is seeking to increase the retirement years from 35 to 40 by service and 60 to 65 by age and other allowences for media workers so as to enhance their condition of the service for effective performance. The passage of the bill followed a motion for its third reading by the majority leader, Hon. Hammantukur Yettisuri during today's plenary presided by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Aminu Iya Abbas. The motion was seconded by Hon. Simon Isa(Song).

CIVIL SERVANT JAILED 7 YRS FOR THREATENING TO POST NUDE VIDEO OF FIANCEE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

A 24 year old Civil Servant, Abu Darda Yunus, who threatened to post nude video of his fiancee (names withheld) social media has been convicted and sentenced to 7 years imprisonment. Abu Darda was convicted by the Chief Magistrate Court I in Adamawa state for extorting his fiancee of the sum of N746, 000 after threatening to post or share her nude video on social media. The Kogi State Civil Servant who resides at Gegu, Kogi Local Government Area, was charged before the court on the 14th March, 2022, for extortion contrary to section 283 of Adamawa State penal code law. Earlier, the convict's fiancee who resides within Jimeta in Yola North LGA reported the incident to the State Intelligence Bureau(SIB) in Yola on the 4th March, 2022. She narrated that on the 21st October, 2021, her fiance(Abu Darda) called her on phone with number 07061351970 and requested her nude video. She said that out of love, she agreed and produced the video and sent to him via WhatsApp with a promise that he...
