TRIBUNAL RESERVES JUDGMENT IN SUIT AGAINST GUYUK LAWMAKER

National /House of Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal has reserved judgement in petition against Hon. Sunday Peter, Member representing Guyuk constituency. The tribunal reserved the judgement in the petition instituted against the lawmaker by the erstwhile member who represented the constituency, Hon. Adwawa Donglock. The tribunal told the parties that the date for judgement will be communicated to them whenever the judgement is ready. This followed the adoption of final written addresses by the petitioners and respondents through their counsels at Thursday sitting. Adopting his final written address and reply on points of law dated the 24th July and 2nd August, 2023, respectively, the 1st respondent( Hon. Sunday Peter) through his counsel, J. O. Makinde, urged the tribunal to dismiss the petition. Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed the whooping N39.261 supplementary budget for the services of the state. NEWS PLATFORM  The passage of the 2023 supplementary budget followed its consideration by the assembly presided by its Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley on Thursday. The assembly dissolved to a Committee of Supply and considered the bill after its 1st and 2nd reading sponsored by the Majority Leader, Hon. DRUNK MAN KILLS DAUGHTER, BURIES CORPSE IN A SHALLOW GRAVE IN ADAMAWA

A drunk man identified as Ayuba Danbaki has been arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly killing his 2 year old daughter and burying the corpse in a shallow grave. NEWS PLATFORM The 35 year old Ayuba Danbaki of Rigi community, Ga'anda District in Gombi LGA, allegedly murdered his daughter known as Tamar Ayuba, after her mother dumped her at a local joint where he was drinking beer. The mother of the deceased, Shiyona Ali was said to have dumped her late daughter with her father at local joint in the community around 8:00pm, after she became tired of her upkeep. Danbaki, who became angry with the action of his former wife and the mother of the deceased, carried the baby into the bush, tied her neck with a rope and subsequently buried her in a shallow grave. ADAMAWA CP PRESENTS N19.732MILLION CHEQUES TO FAMILIES OF FALLEN HEROES

Adamawa State Commissioner of Police,CP Babatola Afolabi Adeniyi, has presented the sum of N19,732,176.12 cheques to about 20 next of kins to police officers who died or deformed while in active service. CP Afolabi said that gesture is part of the “Group Life Assurance Scheme” aimed at improving the welfare of the families of the deceased or deformed police officers. This is contained in a statement by the Command's Public Relations Officer,SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, which was made available to NEWS PLATFORM on Tuesday. SP Nguroje, explained that the Police Boss had presented cheques to cover insurance benefits to the next-of-kins of officers who paid the supreme price as well as those who have suffered permanent deformities while discharging their lawful duties.  He said that the cheques, which were presented to 20 families of deceased officers and those injured or rendered disabled in the line of duty, captured under the Group Life Assurance 2022/2023 Policy Year amounting N19.7...
