Adamawa NIS Boss, 1st Class Chief, LAG Strengthen Ties on Border Security

The Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Adamawa State Command, Ibrahim Mohammed, has sought for collaboration between the command and Ganye Traditional Council in a bid to bolster security and monitor cross-border movements in the region. The Comptroller made the call during a courtesy visit to the palace of Gangwari Ganye, His Royal Highness Alhaji Adamu Umaru Sanda, as part of his official tour of the southern zone of the state. Comptroller Mohammed noted that Ganye, being a border local government area, serves as a point of access for foreigners, and as such, requires increased vigilance and cooperation from traditional institutions and local communities. Sen Iya Abbas Donates Motorcycles to Boost Security in Hong LGA

As part of his effort to boost security in Hong LGA in Adamawa Central Senatorial District, the Senator representing the District, Aminu Iya Abbas has donated 10 motorcycles to local security operatives in Hong LGA.  Speaking while donating the motorcycles at palace of Tol Huba in Hong LGA, Aminu Iya Abbas said the gesture was part of his commitment towards ensuring peace and security to the area.  Senator Iya Abbas, who was represented by the Chairman Hong LGC, Hon. Job Racketeering Trial Stalled as Defendant Fails to Appear in Yola Court

  The trial of Mr. Umar Abubakar, facing alleged charges related to job racketeering and forgery, has been stalled following his failure to appear before the Adamawa State High Court in Yola. Mr. Abubakar was arrested by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in a sting operation in 2022. He was arraigned on June 1, 2023, before Hon. Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman on a three-count charge bordering on obtaining by false pretence, fraudulent document creation, and corruptly receiving a benefit in exchange for employment. According to the ICPC, in April 2022, Abubakar falsely claimed he had high-level connections in the Presidency and induced one Mr. Kabiru Musa to pay N100,000 in exchange for a job placement at the ICPC. He was further alleged to have presented a forged temporary appointment letter, purportedly signed by the ICPC Chairman, to deceive the victim. Adamawa Ministry, Urban Planning Dragged to Court for Land Conversion

The Ministry of Land and Survey as well as Urban and Regional Planning and Development Board in Adamawa state have been sued for allegedly converting plots of land belonging to 7 persons. The plaintiffs, Pius Augustine Zira and 6 others, dragged the defendants/ respondents before Justice Kaynson Lawanson, led high for converting plots of land situated at Mayo-Inne Road, Army Barracks Road, Jimeta-Yola. Pius and 6 others informed the court that they own houses and or property at the location, alleging that the defendants embarked on a massive conversion of the old road at plots of land which has been serving as access road to them. The plaintiffs averred that by reason of the defendants converting and creating plots of land from the old and abandoned road, they have been denied access road to their property. Man, 20 Stabs Friend to Death over Hard Drugs in Adamawa

A 20 years old drug dealer identified as Abdullahi A. Bawa, has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly stabbing a friend with pair of scissors to death. The Chief Magistrate Court II presided by A. M. Adamu, issued the remand order when the defendant was arraigned before him by the Adamawa State Police Command. Bawa, who hails from Ngurore in Yola South LGA, stabbed Baba Ali with a pair of scissors in the chest which led to his death during quarrel over hard drug known as Diazepam. He also stabbed a lady known as Hasim who is currently receiving treatment at a medical facility. Bawa, a habitual, was arraigned before the court by the prosecutor, Inspector Nanugi Tayeri, who informed the judge that the defendant had committed the crime on the 25th April, 2025. Insp. FINTIRI AND RELIGIOUS YAHOOS-BY DR. EDGAR AMOS SUNDAY

Lately, there have been strident attempts especially using the social media to smear the reputation of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri and cast him in the mould of a religious bigot and a male chauvinist. This has gained traction particularly since the death of the Chairman of Fufore Local Government Council, Hon. Shaibu Babas on 23rd April, 2025.  Some people claim that Governor Fintiri did not immediately swear-in the Fufore Local Government Vice-Chairman, Mrs. Peace Samson Audu to replace the deceased because she is a Christian or a Woman.  I concede that there may be some people that are genuinely concerned or sincerely ignorant of the issues. However, many of the vociferous commentaries are borne out of mischief, blackmail, provocation or attempts to ignite religious strife.
