ADAMAWA NUJ INAUGURATES NEW EXCO FOR CORRESPONDENTS' CHAPEL

Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) Adamawa State chapter has inaugurated new Executive Council for the Correspondents' Chapel, Yola.

Those inaugurated include; Daji Sani (ThisDay Newspaper) as Chairman, Husseini Hammangabdo (Leadership Newspaper) Vice Chairman, Onimisi Alao (The Nation Newspaper) as Secretary.

Others are; Amina Abdullahi (Daily Trust) as Treasurer, Fati Mohammed (Deutsche Welle Radio) as Auditor, while the posts of Assistant secretary and Financial secretary are still vacant.

Performing the inauguration ceremony at the NUJ Secretariat on Saturday, the Chairman NUJ Adamawa State Council, Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan charged the new Exco to adhere strictly to NUJ constitution.

Comrade Dedan commended the sportsmanship exhibited by members of the Correspondents Chapel by electing the new Exco through consensus, and wished well while performing their official responsibilities.

He acknowledged the contributions of the members of the chapel, urging them to run the affairs of the Chapel with integrity and usher in a new dawn in order to justify confidence reposed in them. 

The NUJ boss also stressed the need for journalists in the state to always exhibit high sense of maturity and decorum while carrying out their activities, and congratulated the newly inaugurated Exco.

 Responding, the Chairman of the Chapel, Daji Sani thanked his colleagues and State Exco for giving them the mandate to serve in that capacity, and called for useful advice from the members for the progress of the Chapel.

Several other personalities who spoke at the inauguration ceremony commended the maturity exhibited by members of the Correspondents' Chapel.
